Mark Cuban, Ann Coulter join cast of “Sharknado 3”

Dallas Mavericks owner and Shark Tank “shark” Mark Cuban will be tackling sharks of a different sort when he appears as the President of the United States in Syfy’s Sharknado 3, the third installment of the network’s delightfully awful original movie series. Along with this announcement, Syfy also put shivers down liberals’ spines by saying conservative political commentator and author Ann Coulter will be joining Cuban in her role as Vice President.

Previously announced cameos in Sharknado 3 include Bo Derek as May, the mother of April (Tara Reid); Jerry Springer, appearing as Mr. White, a manic tourist; *NSYNC singer Chris Kirkpatrick as a pool lifeguard, and Chris Jericho, who will portray Bruce the roller coaster ride operator.

Also joining the cast are Ryan Newman, who will play April and Fin’s (Ian Ziering) daughter Claudia Sheperd, with Jack Griffo portraying Claudia’s friend, Billy.

Sharknado 3 will premiere on Syfy in July, this time taking place in Washington, D.C., before heading down the Eastern Seaboard and into Florida (scenes are being filmed at Universal Orlando Resort). Anthony C. Ferrante will once again direct, based on an original screenplay by Thunder Levin.

UPDATE 3/10/15: Syfy announced today that David Hasselhoff has joined the cast. He’ll play Gilbert Sheperd, Fin’s father.
