BET Honors 2015 – Date, time, honorees, performers

BET will again be airing the BET Honors, with the BET Honors 2015 airing on the network Feb. 23 at 9pm ET in a taped broadcast. Wayne Brady hosts the ceremony for the second year.

The BET Honors pays tribute to the contributions of African Americans in the areas of education, theater, business and technology, music and innovation. The honorees at the BET Honors 2015 include Phylicia Rashad (Theatrical Award), Kanye West (Visionary Award), Usher Raymond (Musical Arts Award), educator Dr. Johnnetta Betsch Cole (Education Award), and Chairman of Microsoft, John W. Thompson (Business & Technology Award).

According to BET, the show, which was recorded in January in Washington, D.C., opened with an old-school hip hop performance by Wayne Brady that earned him a standing ovation from the audience. The roster of performers included Ne-Yo, K. Michelle, Mary J. Blige, Trey Songz, Patti LaBelle and Charlie Wilson, who was joined on stage by Kanye West for an impromptu performance. Keisha Knight Pulliam, Anthony Anderson, Damon Dash, Bobby Brown, Glynn Turman and Diahann Carroll presented the awards to the honorees.

The BET Honors 2015 airs Feb. 23 at 9pm ET on BET.
