Justin Bieber to be “roastee” in next Comedy Central roast

As if he hasn’t been mocked enough lately following his new Calvin Klein underwear ads (most notably spoofed last week by Saturday Night Live), pop star Justin Bieber will be the “roastee” in the next Comedy Central Roast, the network announced today.

“Justin has been asking us for a few years to roast him, and we just kept telling him to go create more source material first. We’re thrilled he listened,” said Kent Alterman, President, Content Development & Original Programming, Comedy Central.

The Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber will tape in Los Angeles. Comedy Central says that the tape and airdate will be announced shortly.

UPDATE 1/20/15: Ryan Seacrest tweeted out that he has confirmed the Bieber roast will air in March:

UPDATE 2/9/15: Comedy Central has confirmed that the Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber will premiere March 30 at 10pm ET/PT (it tapes March 14). Kevin Hart will be the Roast Master.

UPDATE 3/5/15: Comedy Central confirmed the “roasters” at the event: celebrities Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Shaquille O’Neal and Martha Stewart, and comedians Hannibal Buress, Chris D’Elia, Natasha Leggero and Jeffrey Ross.

UPDATE 3/16/15: Comedy Central released two preview clips from the recently taped roast, including Kevin Hart saying that the roasters are going to give Bieber the “ass-whooping he deserves” —  “something his parents and the legal system should have done a long time ago.” Also, Jeffrey Ross explains to Justin how roast fans want blood this time, “even though most of your fans haven’t even gotten their periods yet.”
