The 48th annual CMA Awards is just days away and for the 7th consecutive time, Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisely will host Country Music’s Biggest Night. The show’s glamorous red carpet arrivals airs on CMT at 7pm ET, with the big event following at 8pm ET over on ABC.
For mom-to-be Underwood, who is also nominated for three awards (female vocalist of the year, musical event and music video of the year — both for Somethin’ Bad with Miranda Lambert, style may be the night’s biggest challenge because she’s got this hosting thing down cold. “It always makes for good times at awards shows when you’re kinda the one driving the bus,” she said to CMT News. Because aren’t you dying to see what the blonde beauty wears? Even if she’s only in her second trimester, She’s gonna find some way cute to highlight her bitty baby bump.
At the CMA Awards, Thomas Rhett and Cole Swindell will perform while their fellow new artist nominees: Brandy Clark, Brett Eldredge and Kip Moore are confirmed as presenters. Hunter Hayes, Jennifer Nettles and The Doobie Brothers were recently added to the star-studded slate of performances.
Ashley Monroe has been added to Blake Shelton’s performance. Previously announced performers include Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Tim McGraw, Kacey Musgraves, Brad Paisley, George Strait, The Band Perry, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban, as well as pop stars Ariana Grande and Meghan Trainor.
Presenting trophies during the three-hour gala are super-model Lilly Aldridge, Darius Rucker, and CMA Awards nominees Lee Brice and Martina McBride, who join previously announced presenters including Connie Britton, Garth Brooks, Lucy Hale, Tim Tebow, Steven Tyler, and Trisha Yearwood.
