2015 Miss America Competition: Date, time, channel

The 2015 Miss America Competition will air Sunday, Sept. 14, at 9pm ET on ABC, live from the Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall. Once again, Chris Harrison (The Bachelor) and Lara Spencer (Good Morning America) will serve as co-hosts. Comedian and former Miss New Jersey, Dena Blizzard, will serve as a special correspondent, sharing live updates from inside the auditorium. The judges panel will include television writer and executive producer Marc Cherry; former Green Bay Packer and Super Bowl Champion, Donald Driver; author and entrepreneur Kathy Ireland; U.S. Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson; Gen. Anne Macdonald, who served over 30 years in the Army; actress and former Miss America, Lee Meriwether; and author and CEO of VaynerMedia, Gary Vaynerchuk.

New this year, the Miss Congeniality Award will be announced live. Also new, the Miss America Organization is, for the first time in its 60-year television history, allowing cameras to broadcast live in the hour leading up to the competition. ABC will be airing this coverage in a special called Countdown to Miss America. This coverage will look at the preliminary competitions, and will also take a historical look back at the Miss America Organization’s nine decades of scholarships and service, introduce viewers to more than 30 former Miss Americas — including actress Lee Meriwether, who was the first Miss America crowned on national television 60 years ago, in 1955.

UPDATE 9/14/14: Miss America 2015 is Miss New York, Kira Kazantsev. This is the third year in a row that Miss New York has won Miss America.

The 2015 Miss America Competition airs live on ABC Sept. 14 at 9pm ET. It is preceded by Countdown to Miss America at 8pm ET.
