TCM celebrating 75th anniversary of “Gone With the Wind”

It’s an all-time Hollywood classic, and adjusted for inflation, and factoring in re-releases, it is still the No. 1 box-office hit of all time in the U.S. Now, Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will be celebrating the 75th anniversary of the iconic 1939 film Gone With the Wind in September, through a combination of big-screen events, home entertainment options and, of course, an airing of the classic on the network itself. Frankly, if you’re a fan of the movie, you’ll probably want to give a damn about these selected celebratory events:

Nationwide Theatrical Screenings

TCM, Fathom Events and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment are bringing Gone With the Wind back to the big screen with presentations in more than 650 theaters nationwide. The screenings will feature an intro by TCM host Robert Osborne, with the film presented in its original 1:37 aspect ratio, as it was originally filmed/screened 75 years ago.

Collector’s Edition Blu-ray and Digital HD

On Sept. 30, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will release a Gone With the Wind 75th Anniversary Ultimate Collector’s Edition on Blu-Ray and Digital HD with UltraViolet.

Gone With the Wind on TCM

Gone With the Wind airs on TCM Sept. 29 at 10pm ET. The special presentation is hosted by Robert Osborne, and is part of an all-night marathon focusing on the work of composer Max Steiner.

Gone With the Wind Available via TCM On Demand and Watch TCM

Following the on-air presentation of Gone With the Wind, TCM will make the film available through the Watch TCM app and website from Sept. 30-Oct. 6.
