ABC To Celebrate Schoolhouse Rock With Primetime Special

ABC Schoolhouse ROckJust in case you finally got the words from Conjunction Junction and I’m Just a Bill out of your head, ABC is bringing beloved Schoolhouse Rock songs to TV in a one-night-only primetime special. The alphabet network announced yesterday that the special The ABC’s Of Schoolhouse Rock, will even dare to countdown the 5 best songs from the cartoon series.

I think it’s preposterous to even try to rank them, it’s like picking your favorite child. But I had to choose, here’s my vote for #1. (I’ve always wondered if the voice of the boy is the same kid who voiced the classic “Mr. Owl” Tootsie Pop commercial.)

Many of Schoolhouse Rock’s videos are available on YouTube, and it makes me wonder, how are kids today learning about conjunctions, nouns and verbs? These videos impeccably explain stiff that adults take for granted.  Perhaps schools can add Schoolhouse rock videos to their curriculum and we can teach children actual grammar that doesn’t include LOL and YOLO as actual words.
