The US Open tennis 2014 TV schedule begins Monday, Aug. 25, with early rounds from Queens, N.Y. ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, Tennis Channel, CBS and CBS Sports Network share coverage.
The year’s last Grand Slam returns to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens, N.Y., with US Open early rounds beginning Monday, Aug. 25, at 1pm ET live on ESPN. Serena Williams returns to defend her women’s singles title, while 2013 men’s singles champion Rafael Nadal has withdrawn due to a wrist injury. Top ladies challenging Williams include Petra Kvitova, Maria Sharapova, Agnieszka Radwanksa, Simona Halep, Eugenie Bouchard and Angelique Kerber. With Nadal’s absence, the men’s side could be wide open with Novak Djokovic, Stanislas Wawrinka, Roger Federer, David Ferrer, Milos Raonic and Andy Murray in the title hunt.
ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, Tennis Channel and CBS share tournament coverage through Sept. 8. It’s the final year of CBS covering the US Open, as ESPN acquired exclusive live TV rights for 11 years beginning in 2015.
