Original Text: On April 19 at WonderCon, Star Wars Rebels Executive Producer Dave Filoni and Vanessa Marshall (“Hera Syndulla”) debuted a short :30 clip from the first Disney/Lucasfilm endeavor featuring female fighter pilot Hera and rolling droid, Chopper.

Star Wars Rebels continues the epic tradition of the legendary Star Wars saga with all-new exciting, action-packed adventures. Star Wars Rebels is set in the two decades between Star Wars Episodes III and IV, a time when the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi knights. Unbeknownst to the Empire, a rebellion is beginning to take form …

On “Star Wars Day,” May the fourth, Disney will debut the official trailer for the highly anticipated cartoon series and we will post a link to it. The animated series is scheduled to premiere in Fall 2014, as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel, and will be followed by a series on Disney XD channels around the world.

Most of the show’s plot details are closely kept secrets. But Star Wars fans are masters of cobbling together information based on a few morsels of intelligence.

We do know a little about major cast members:
Freddie Prinze Jr. as Kanan, “The Cowboy Jedi”
Vanessa Marshall as Hera Syndulla, the Twi’lek pilot for the Ghost crew of rebels
Taylor Gray as Ezra Bridger, the “Street-Smart Hero”
Tiya Sircar as Sabine Wren, the beautiful Mandalorian “Explosives Expert”
Steve Blum as Zeb Orrelios a new species of Star Wars alien, “The Muscle”
The Inquisitor, The newest bad guy for the Empire, tasked with hunting down the few remaining Jedi Rebels
Chopper, A grumpy Astromech Droid

The show’s premiere episode will be written by Sci-Fi legend Simon Kinberg (X-Men: First Class, Sherlock Homes, Mr. & Mrs. Smith) who will also serve as an executive producer. Star Wars Rebels is the first property to come from Disney’s acquisition of Lucasfilm.
