A few months back, NBC’s Chicago Fire offered a competition in which firehouses across the country submitted pictures of and information about their real-life firehouse dogs, to convince producers that theirs was the “Top Dog.” The Chicago Fire Top Dog winner, Smokey, filmed his guest appearance on the series yesterday for an episode to air this May.
Smokey is a Labrador retriever mix, based out of Station 2 in Jacksonville, IL. According to NBC, Smokey received the star treatment during his time on Chicago Fire, including a limo ride to the set and his own director’s chair.
Chicago Fire airs Tuesdays on NBC at 10pm ET/PT.
