E! renews “#RichKids of Beverly Hills,” is developing New York spinoff

Along with a multitude of other announcements yesterday, E! said that it will be renewing its hit reality series #RichKids of Beverly Hills for a second season, coming this August (doesn’t take long to crank these out, does it?). Along with that, a spinoff series — #RichKids of New York — was announced to be in development.

According to E!, #RichKids of Beverly Hills Season 2 “features the jet-setting cast taking on new endeavors, new relationships and traveling around the globe in true #RichKids style to exotic international locales.”

That jet-setting cast again includes the offspring of some of the wealthiest billionaire and millionaire moguls: Morgan Stewart, Dorothy Wang, Roxy Sowlaty, Brendan Fitzpatrick and Jonny Drubel.

E! also had this to say about the spinoff New York series, which currently has a working title of #RichKids of New York and no premiere date:

“Building off the success of #RichKids of Beverly Hills, #RichKids of New York features a whole different kind of ‘rich kid.’ These 20-somethings are just as wealthy, beautiful and fabulous – but with their own unique entrepreneurial drive. These #RichKids are using their bank roll to build their own empires in The Big Apple. They’re educated, elitist and connected; reigning over a city where it’s not just what you own, but who you know. Despite their east coast pedigrees and privilege, these rich kids are brash, unfiltered scenesters, who love to cocktail, party, and make fun of themselves and each other.”

E! may have a Real Housewives-type franchise on its hands if this keeps up …
