Shirley Temple Black passed away at her home yesterday at the age of 85. Although in her adult life she notably served as a U.S. ambassador, Temple Black is probably best remembered as Shirley Temple, the iconic child star of early Hollywood.
Several of Shirley Temple Black’s best-loved films from the 1930s and ’40s will air Sunday, March 9, on Turner Classic Movies (TCM) in tribute to the late actress.
“Shirley Temple was a good friend and an extraordinary human being who, after being the most famous person in the world at age 6 and Hollywood’s pint-sized Queen at age 7, grew up to be such a lovely, civic-minded citizen, wife and mother, as well as the U.S. Ambassador to two countries,” said TCM host Robert Osborne in a release. “There will never be another one like her.”
