Playing off the myth of Icarus, who paid dearly for trying to fly too close to the sun, the art showcases a freefalling Leonardo da Vinci (Tom Riley) as he strives to reach new heights, as Icarus did. According to a STARZ release, the Icarus story will be a metaphor for da Vinci’s journey in Season 2, as he continues to put himself and those he loves in danger in his quest for truth and knowledge.

Live-action video of the art is below, along with a sneak peek video featurette including interviews with series creator/executive producer David S. Goyer and returning cast members Tom Riley, Laura Haddock, Elliot Cowan, Lara Pulver, Blake Ritson and Gregg Chillin. New cast members Carolina Guerra (who plays Ima, the seductive Inca high priestess) and Kieran Bew (portraying Duke Alfonso, the son of Ferrante and future king of Naples) are also introduced.

Da Vinci’s Demons Season 2 premieres March 22 at 9pm ET/PT on STARZ.
