The one-hour WWE Tribute to the Troops 2013 is taped at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington state and will feature musical guest Daughtry, with Access Hollywood‘s Michelle Beadle and comedian Jeff Dunham. There will also be shout-outs from stars such as Will Ferrell, Bruce Willis, Ryan Seacrest, Christina Applegate and Stephen Colbert.

Of course, there will also be WWE celebrities, and not just on-site at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. The special will also chronicle WWE’s goodwill visit to U.S. troops overseas. WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon, superstars Big Show and R-Truth, and divas Eva Marie and Alicia Fox traveled abroad to spread holiday cheer to the men and women in the armed forces.

In terms of picking out the site for WWE Tribute to the Troops 2013, a press release says that WWE worked with Washington Governor Jay Inslee to select the joint base, which is the largest operational base in the world. Joint Base Lewis-McChord houses more than 100,000 civilians, troops and family members from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps.

Tribute to the Troops is WWE’s way of thanking those who have sacrificed so much for our country as well as those who continue to defend our freedom today,” said McMahon in a release. “We are proud to continue this annual tradition with our partners at Joint Base Lewis-McChord and Governor Inslee.”
