College football’s top individual award, the Heisman Trophy, is presented to the most outstanding player of the year in a ceremony from New York City on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 8pm ET live on ESPN. Quarterbacks dominated the list of players invited: Florida State’s Jameis Winston, Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel (2012 Heisman recipient), Northern Illinois’ Jordan Lynch and Alabama’s AJ McCarron. Two running backs also received invitations: Auburn’s Tre Mason and Boston College’s Andre Williams. The six finalists invited are the most since 1994, though Winston remains the overwhelming favorite.
