“Anarchy Afterword”: FX’s “Sons of Anarchy” gets post-episode talk show

Those who have a hard time coming down after each hard-hitting, intense episode of Sons of Anarchy will no longer have to ride through this world all alone. When Sons of Anarchy Season 6 debuts Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 10pm on FX, it will be followed immediately by Anarchy Afterword, a live web post-show hosted by comedian Chris Franjola (Chelsea Lately) from the SOA set.

Visit anarchyafterword.com for uncensored interviews with Sons creator Kurt Sutter, and a revolving roster of cast members.

The format follows the popular Talking Dead and Talking Bad on AMC, meaning the comedian host (named Chris) will chat with some cast members and hold court with at least one other entertainer. For the first Anarchy Afterword, Kim Coates (“Tig”) and Jimmy Smits (“Nero”) will drop by, along with comedian Margaret Cho. It’s about time we got Cho’s opinions on SAMCRO, right?

I’m not all that familiar with Franjola, but judging from how much time he spends in the company of Chelsea Handler, I’m guessing he’ll be able to hold his own against a bunch of pretend bikers.

It’s easy to see why networks are attracted to the post-show format. Production costs and times are nearly zilch, and it’s a ready-made way to keep viewership high and also manufacture social media buzz. Thankfully it’s been done well by AMC with its two shows, so it’s up to Anarchy Afterword (not the catchiest title, eh?) to hold serve. It’d be a nice break from the usual lineup of cast members and comedians if they brought in some real-life bikers to shed light on how realistic Sons of Anarchy is (or isn’t). That’s not really something you can do with a zombie show.

As for when Charlie Hunnam makes his inevitable appearance, let’s just challenge ourselves right now as self-respecting Sons fans not to turn it into a Fifty Shades of Grey Q&A, shall we?
