The Walking Dead Season 4 premiere date announced

AMC has announced that The Walking Dead Season 4 premiere will air Sunday, Oct. 13 at 9pm ET/PT.

Like previous outings, the 16-episode season will air in two parts, with the second 8-episode outing bowing in February 2014. The popular live after-show Talking Dead, hosted by Chris Hardwick, will air immediately following new episodes of The Walking Dead at 10pm ET/PT.

Season 4 will feature Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and the surviving members of his group — who took in the remaining members of Woodbury after the Governor committed the shocking roadside mass-murder of its strongest residents — discovering that the zombie herd is on the rise, but the dangers that lurk inside the prison walls are even more insidious.

Season 4 will also introduce several new characters including comic book favorite Bob Stookey, played by The Wire‘s Lawrence Gilliard Jr.

The Season 4 premiere will coincide with the launch of the 17th annual AMCFearfest, AMC’s yearly marathon of thrillers and horror films that will run Oct. 13 through Halloween.

Beginning Oct. 7, AMC will also air a marathon of consecutive The Walking Dead episodes through the first three seasons.

  1. Last season started out great but the finale was sort of a popcorn fart in comparison. Just when we thought they had the pacing issues and kinks worked out you wonder what the heck is going on. I expected more and it left me shrugging my shoulders rather than biting my nails. Until next season, if you love or loathe zombies as much as I do, be sure to check out 20 of the Greatest Zombie Movies of All Time reviewed at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2011/05/top-10-zombie-movies-of-all-time-with.html with some really cool zombie artwork!
