Detox in the RuPaul's Drag Race finale

Detox in the RuPaul's Drag Race finaleIt’s time to wrap up Season 5 of RuPaul’s Drag Race with a finale extravaganza. Who was crowned the victor after this 2 hour episode? Will it be Jinkx? (A fan favorite, but apparently not favored by other contestants.) Alaska? (Can a couple produce 2 champions?) Roxxxy Andrews? (Not a popular fan choice, but this is Ru’s decision and hers alone.)

Why am I showing a picture of Detox when she can’t possibly win? Because that monochrome makeup is SICKENING. Can I get an amen?

If this episode is feeling too long for you, why not head on over to the iTunes store or whatever mobile device app download-thingy you use and get RuPaul’s Drag Race: Dragopolis. It’s the new super-fierce game where you help Ru against the evil drag queen Apocalypstyk. Now you can play with drag queens, as a drag queen, while watching drag queens. Remember? Pandora Boxx told us all about it. Well, it’s out now. Yippee!

If you’re pressed for time you should know that RuPaul told us this was a 2-hour extravaganza, but it’s really only 90 minutes. The last half hour was the premiere of the puppet show Felt. I can’t tell if it’s supposed to be funny or serious, and if it’s not willing to commit to a genre, I’m not willing to commit to it. Sorry bout it.

The episode itself is your basic reunion episode – each queen gets introduced in order of elimination. They get to say some shady stuff about the other girls or express surprise about how they came off on TV. It’s all filler to build up for the announcement of the season 5 winner.

And who won RuPaul’s Drag Race? If you’ve managed to avoid the social media chatter about it, congratulations. I’m about to spoil it for you. It appears that the show filmed 3 alternate endings as they did last season, and the winner didn’t find out until last night with all of us. It was Jinkx. Hooray! NewNowNext has a clip to see the contestants reaction to the winner announcement:

RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6, Episode 11 recap: Glitter Ball!

April 28, 2014 Ruth Boulet Reality TV, Recap 15

It’s the fabulous 5 left on RuPaul’s Drag Race. The girls give a final ‘wha-wa’ and boob salute to Joslyn. Sweet, sweet Joslyn and her Ru-zy-Qs. I shall miss the Ru-zy-Qs. I will also miss her sometimes unexpected insights on Untucked. Girl knew what was going on, even if she couldn’t articulate it in the work room or on the runway. Darienne feels like she should’ve been above Courtney in last week’s challenge. BenDeLa is thinking that Bianca is getting too comfortable. The last time BenDeLa was comfortable, she ended up in the bottom 2. Now Bianca in the bottom […]

It’s Christmas in April because it’s finally time for the RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 7 Snatch Game episode! Screw the mini-challenge! There’s only room for one challenge this episode! And in the vein of “you have no idea unless you saw the preview” both Max and Violet are planning on doing Donatella Versace. Kennedy claims that she hasn’t thought of who she’s going to do on Snatch Game. WHO GOES ON DRAG RACE WITHOUT THINKING OF THEIR SNATCH GAME CHARACTER?! Ru does her typical Jedi mind tricks on the contestants as she walks around the workroom checking in with them. […]

RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6 episode 8: Comedy challenge recap

April 7, 2014 Ruth Boulet Reality TV, Recap 4

RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6 episode 8 begins with the queens still reeling from the non-elimination from 2 minutes ago. Joslyn has become disillusioned with Courtney Act because of how mean an condescending she’s being. BenDeLaCreme is relieved to still be around and other queens are happy she’s there. Some of their comments may be seen as being shady to Darienne, but it seems to not be so much about that. Darienne appears to be taking it that way, though. Bianca’s annoyed by the clucking Laganja who hasn’t funneled her high energy into much productive lately. Thankfully the mini-challenge comes […]
