Star Trek Into Darkness director J.J. Abrams, and stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana and Benedict Cumberbatch, will appear on-air on MTV this Wednesday, May 8, at 7:56pm ET to introduce an exclusive clip from Star Trek Into Darkness, the eagerly awaited sequel to the 2009 reboot of the classic Star Trek franchise, which looks to be one of this summer’s blockbusters.
The cast of Star Trek Into Darkness will be joined by MTV News’ Josh Horowitz to personally introduce the world-premiere clip. They will then head to MTV.com for a 30-minute sit-down interview, where they will also take fan questions via Twitter (using @MTVNews/hashtag #MTVFirst #AskStarTrek). Fans around the world will be able to watch the worldwide exclusive clip and full cast interview beginning Friday, May 10, at Movies.MTV.tv.
In Star Trek Into Darkness, when the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.
