2016 Kentucky Derby TV schedule

Kentucky Derby 2013 TV schedule includes more than 14 hours of coverage on NBC and NBC Sports Network, plus Derby week programs on NBCUniversal cable networks.

Kentucky Derby 2013 TV schedule

The 139th Kentucky Derby takes place Saturday, May 4, from Churchill Downs in Louisville, for the first leg of horse racing’s elusive Triple Crown (sweeping the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes). Verrazano, Orb, Revolutionary, Normandy Invasion and Goldencents are among the top contenders in the starting gate. I’ll Have Another won last year’s Kentucky Derby and Preakness, but his Triple Crown chances were scratched when tendonitis forced him out of the Belmont.

NBC airs the race live at 4pm ET, but the NBCUniversal networks have plenty of complementary programming during Derby week. NBC Sports Group airs 14.5 hours of Kentucky Derby coverage beginning May 1 at 4pm ET on NBC Sports Network with Kentucky Derby Classics. NBC Sports Network bookends NBC’s race coverage with Kentucky Derby Saturday at 11am ET and a post-race show at 7pm ET.

  1. It is sad that we are not able to tune in to all the pre-festivities on NBC. We love that hoopla of it all ……the hats, the drinks, the food and meeting the horses, jockeys and owners….
