RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 5 is down to the final 4 — RoLaskaToxx and Jinkx Monsoon. Roxxxy being ‘mean’ to Jinkx & then Jinkx looks all forlorn. The shade of it all! At least that’s the way the episode is being edited. Half the time in this episode and the corresponding Untucked, the four contestants seem to be having a good time with each other.
The mini-challenge is an old-fashioned bitchfest. With puppets. Well done on the cross-promotion, LOGO. The network seems to be getting the hang of this. The drag queens have to pull a puppet out of the glory hole. The puppets have the names of other contestants on them and they need to be dragged up for a bitchfest with their human contestant. Three of the performances are funny. Roxxxy’s puppet of Jinkx is a little more on the snarky side rather than the cute side. Unbecoming Roxxxy! Plus the whole being-down-on Jinkx thing is getting tired. But in a season without a real ‘villain’ left, we’ve got to create one. I know that I’m playing into RuPaul’s super-smooth hands, but I’m at the point where ‘anyone but Roxxxy’ can win and I’ll be good with that.

The main challenge is “The Sugar Ball” — the contestants need to come up with 3 looks — Super Duper Sweet 16, Sugar Mama Executive Realness and $h!t Made out of Candy. At least that’s how Christian Siriano would refer to it if he were on RuPaul’s Drag Race. Since Alaska won the mini-challenge, she gets a 15-second head start on picking out candy for her outfit. Roxxxy is super-confident since she’s a strong sewer. But are you a strong gluer, Roxxxy?
The candy looks the drag queens come up with are OK. Roxxxy’s is the best with candy ropes glued into a fringy-bustier dress. Alaska goes with a cotton-candy explosion. It looks good but cotton candy doesn’t really hot glue well — chunks of it keep falling off. Detox goes with a neon-green and black creation that doesn’t really look candy-like at all. And Jinkx creates a huge hoop skirt covered in crushed candy. Unfortunately she also has a narcolepsy attack so she’s half-falling asleep while creating it. It’s a hot mess of a dress, and she ends up only wearing the bustier part with a smaller skirt, meaning she’s got a lot less candy on her dress than some of the other girls.
As the mini-challenge winner, Alaska is also given the task of creating a Sugar Girls dance routine with the rest of the contestants. They keep it simple and clean. With this performance, that brings our outfit count up to 4 for this runway. It must’ve taken all freakin’ day to film this runway show.
After the runway, Alaska’s dress stops falling apart and she wins the challenge. Roxxxy is the runner-up, leaving Jinkx and Detox in the bottom 2. It’s Jinkx’s first time in the bottom, and Detox’s 3rd time.

In the end, there’s no question Jinkx is the stronger performer this week. RoLaskaToxx has finally been split apart as Detox is sent home. The final 3 are Alaska, Roxxxy and Jinkx Monsoon. Only two episodes remain — who will be crowned a winner? Who do you think will win? Sound off below!

This challenge would have been a fail for me, I think I would have spent the whole time eating the candy instead of designing an outfit for the runway. I have to agree with you, at this point “anyone but Roxxxy” can win and I’ll be good with that. Because of my new work schedule at DISH, I missed RuPaul’s Drag Race when it first aired. I was able to catch up on this show, thanks to my DISH Hopper recording this episode for me. This DVR is the only one capable of recording up to 2,000 hours of my favorite shows. With it, I was able to record the full season of RPDR, and the full seasons of my other favorite shows that air the same night.
I know that roxxy was left at a bus stop, but that’s no excuses to be so hateful and mean to jinxx. I have sad things happen to me in my life, abuse, abandonment, even my little brother murdered. But i wont use that as an excuse to behave in such a negative way. Maybe the editing had some role in the way she was portrayed but a blind person could see, roxxy can be very mean, negative and full of herself. The next drag super star should be someone we can all look up to, that’s fun, humble and has a good heart. Like jinxx or Alaska
Poor Roxxy, Obviously the trauma she endured has made her a very insecure person. So beautiful and talented to be soooo mean. Go Jinx Go!! I wish Alaska and Jinx could be co-winners…and good riddance to

Go Jinkx Go ! She is so polite and has done very well in all challenges, ok maybe not the last one but she did one hell of a lip sync for your life. Watch out Roxxy what goes around comes around! Second,Alaska.
I have really come to enjoy Jinkx Monsoon. She is quirky and individual and sweet. It is a shame about the narcolepsy though. Just when she needs to pull out all the stops with the candy outfit it hits big time. If she had been able to sleep I don’t think she would have given up on her skirt so easily. I’m glad she is still in it to win. GO Jinkx! Don’t give up.
Jinkx, she never has a bad thing to say about anyone .I do believe she has a lot of talent and truly always did do quite well at all competitions. I do like Alaska but she did give up on the very first competition, and feel she was given another chance, and did deserve it, plus she is not rude either

I LOVE THEM ALL. BUT TIARA OFF FOR ALSASKA. SHE IS NOTHING LIKE HER 4 SEASON CROWNED COUTERPARTNER. SHEIS MUCH SOFTER. EDGY BUT GLAM. Ok, that goes too far – no one deserves that. Besides, most of the ‘Roxxxy is so mean’ seems to be coming from getting the ‘bitch edit.’ That doesn’t excuse some of the things she’s said, but I don’t know that she’s being as mean as she’s being portrayed.
Regardless, no one should be abandoned like she was. Come on now.

Wow. WHen the season started I really thought I was going to like Detox and RoXXXy. But if I had Roxxxy in front of me last night I would have hit her. She is a hateful bully. I hope when she sees the show that she has some kind of remorse, but I really think she is too full of herself to feel anything. I love JINX and ALASKA, please, either one of the two and I will be happy!
