Last night, MTV announced the categories and nominees for the 2013 MTV Movie Awards, which will be given at a ceremony airing live on MTV April 14 at 9pm ET/PT (moving to spring from its previous summertime slot). Django Unchained, which recently won a couple of Oscars, led the nominees with seven nominations, along with the comedy Ted, also with seven nominations. Another Oscar winner, Silver Linings Playbook, gained six nominations, and The Dark Knight Rises got five nods. Rounding out the most nominated films were The Avengers, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Pitch Perfect and Skyfall with four nominations each.

Fans can vote online at MovieAwards.MTV.com through Saturday, April 13 (except Movie of the Year, which keeps live voting throughout the telecast), with the winners announced at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards ceremony on April 14. The ceremony will be hosted by Rebel Wilson, who is nominated for Best Female Performance and Breakthrough Performance for her role as Fat Amy in Pitch Perfect. Wilson will be joined by the inaugural Comedic Genius Award recipient Will Ferrell, who is nominated for Best On-Screen Duo with Zach Galifianakis for The Campaign. Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) will be presenting the Comedic Genius award to Ferrell.

Jamie Foxx will be presented with the Generation Award, the MTV Movie Awards highest honor, which acknowledges an actor who can be counted on to engage the MTV audience with everything that he or she does.

Other presenters include Brad Pitt, who will be presenting Movie of the Year; Kim Kardashian, who will be introducing Selena Gomez’ televised debut of her new single “Come and Get It”; Liam Hemsworth, who will be introducing the two-and-a-half-minute never-before-seen official teaser trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire; Steve Carell; Melissa McCarthy; Zac Efron; Kerry Washington; Seth Rogen; Danny McBride; Amanda Seyfried; Chris Rock; Adam Sandler; Chris Pine; Zoe Saldana; and Zachary Quinto.

Along with the teaser trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the 2013 MTV Movie Awards will also debut an extended scene from Iron Man 3.

The 2013 MTV Movie Awards Pre-Show will feature the first-ever three-way celebrity “Catfish” featuring Mark Wahlberg, Joe Manganiello and Anna Kendrick, and will air April 14 at 8:30pm ET.

The 2013 MTV Movie Awards will be introducing two new categories. Many ladies (and some of the gents) should enjoy the nominees for Best Shirtless Performance, while the other new category, Best Musical Moment, will celebrate — duh — musical moments in film.
