Snapped: Killer Couples premieres March 10 on Oxygen

Oxygen announced today that it will air the 200th episode of its popular true-crime series Snapped on March 10, followed by the premiere of the show’s new spinoff, Snapped: Killer Couples.

Spotlighting romantic partners whose passion led to murder, Snapped: Killer Couples will follow the format of its long-running predecessor, mixing the firsthand accounts of law enforcement officers, journalists, family members and other people close to the cases with dramatic recreations to illustrate how love can be blind — and lethal.

The show’s premiere episode tells the story of porn actors Amanda Logue and Jason Andrews who used a sex party to disguise and then carry out the robbery and gruesome murder of a friend. Other couples profiled throughout the season include teenage lovers on a cross-country crime spree and secret lesbian lovers who resort to permanent measures to get one partner’s husband out of the picture.

The 200th episode of Snapped profiles Jennifer Nibbe, a young Minnesota mom who blames the shooting death of her sleeping husband on an intruder, until her diary and cell phone help reveal the truth.

Snapped has fulfilled the desires of its female audience to understand the motives that lead everyday moms, wives and girlfriends to commit shocking crimes,” said Rod Aissa, Senior Vice President, Original Programming and Development for Oxygen Media, in a statement. “Snapped: Killer Couples is the perfect companion series to our true-crime Sunday night lineup as we continue to deliver compelling storylines that resonate with our viewers and leave them wanting more.”

Snapped: Jennifer Nibbe premieres Sunday March 10 at 9pm ET/PT on Oxygen, immediately followed by the series premiere of
