Ed. Note: Did you see that? Ru as Judge Ru? How awesome is that?!

As always, RuPaul is joined by the fiercest celebrity guests to help judge the face primping, wig snatching and tuck tightening action. This season turns up the heat as it brings: Maria Conchita Alonso, Joan Van Ark, Chaz Bono, Downtown Julie Brown, Coco, Camille Grammer, Marg Helgenberger, La Toya Jackson, Kristen Johnston, Leslie Jordan, Clinton Kelly, George Kotsiopolous, Juliette Lewis, Bob Mackie, Aubrey O’Day, The Pointer Sisters (Anita & Ruth), Paulina Porizkova, Mike Ruiz, Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Travis Wall to the judging table alongside show regulars Michelle Visage and Santino Rice.  Together they will decide who will stay, lip-sync for their life or “Sashay Away.” Additional guest appearances this season include: Gloria Allred, Mathu Andersen, Candis Cayne, Nadya Ginsburg, Deven Green, Wilmer Valderrama and Bruce Vilanch.

”This is the fiercest, most eclectic group of judges and guest stars ever. First and foremost, they’re all big fans of the show and the art of drag – proving that our little show about ‘cross-dressers’ is becoming a big cross-over hit,” said Executive Producer RuPaul.

“RuPaul’s Drag Race” is bringing together some of the “fishiest” ladies in show history, and fans will be gagging to figure out just where these hopefuls’ secret lies. The fourteen queens who will toss off their tiaras and prepare for battle this season are: Alaska, Alyssa Edwards, Coco Montrese, Detox, Honey Mahogany, Ivy Winters, Jade Jolie, Jinkx Monsoon, Lineysha Sparx, Monica Beverly Hillz, Penny Tration, Roxxxy Andrews, Serena ChaCha and Vivienne Pinay.

In the end, only one contestant will have what it takes to win the coveted title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar,” and a prize package that includes a sickening supply of Colorevolution cosmetics, a one-of-a-kind trip courtesy of AlandChuck.travel, a headlining spot on Logo’s Drag Race Tour, featuring ABSOLUT® Vodka, cocktails perfected and a cash prize of $100,000.

“RuPaul’s Drag Race” is produced by World of Wonder Productions with Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato, Tom Campbell, and RuPaul Charles serving as Executive Producers. Mandy Salangsang, David Cortez and Steven Corfe serve as Co-Executive Producers. Brent Zacky and Pamela Post serve as Executive Producers for Logo.

RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 1 Episode 2 Recap: The Lost Season is Found

October 8, 2013 Ruth Boulet Reality TV, Recap Comments Off on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 1 Episode 2 Recap: The Lost Season is Found

RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 1 Episode 2 opens with Ru telling us in his pop-up that this episode marks the first group challenge in Drag Race herstory. “Long ago, when the lighting was hard, and the focus was always soft…” – RuPaul I love it when RuPaul throws shade at herself. Is there a term for that? Self shade? Boomerang shade? Shady boomerang? Someone get on that & make it snappy. One thing I didn’t notice in last week’s episode is the TV Ru uses to tease the episode’s challenge. It’s like the AV club cart from high school. Only […]

Preview RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 7 Episode 9 Reading is Fundamental

April 21, 2015 Ruth Boulet Reality TV, Recap Comments Off on Preview RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 7 Episode 9 Reading is Fundamental

I guess RuPaul’s Drag Race wants to give away the store, because they’ve posted a preview of episode 9. That preview shows this year’s rendition of Reading is Fundamental! This must be a really good episode if Logo is willing to share this so soon. The main challenge involves John Waters, so it should be good. Obviously, don’t watch this if you haven’t seen episode 8. RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 5 episode 7 recap

March 12, 2013 Ruth Boulet Reality TV, Recap 3

The library is open on RuPaul’s Drag Race season 5! Reading is fun-damental, hunties! The episode begins with Alaska cutting the creamy middle out of RoLaskaToxx. About time, Alaska. She’s figured out that she doesn’t stand out in the group, and with only 7 queens left, she needs to stand out. We don’t dwell on that too long at the start, so I don’t think anyone was surprised. Get More: Watch RuPaul’s Drag Race Full Episodes, RuPaul, Logo TV The mini-challenge is the ever-popular read of each other. One by one the queens are called to the front, don the […]
