Keri Russell plays a KGB spy in FX’s upcoming Cold War drama, “The Americans”

Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys star in FX's upcoming drama, "The Americans," slated to premiere early next year.

In The Americans, slated to premiere early next year on FX, two KGB spies pose as Americans in suburban Washington, D.C., shortly after Ronald Reagan becomes president. Keri Russell (Felicity) and Matthew Rhys star as Elizabeth and Phil Jennings, who have two children who know nothing about their parents’ true identity. Complicating matters is a new neighbor, played by Noah Emmerich, who also happens to be an FBI agent working counter intelligence. FX released some photos from the series, which was created by Joe Weisberg and executive produced by Graham Yost (Justified).
