BIO Channel remembers Davy Jones with a pair of encore specials

To commemorate the unexpected passing of pop icon Davy Jones, tonight BIO Channel will help the former Monkee’s multiple generations of devoted fans remember their heartthrob with back to back hourlong specials devoted to the man and his band.

Biography: The Monkees premieres at 8pm ET followed by BIO Remembers: Davy Jones at 9pm ET.

Brought together as the members of a fictional band at the heart of  their eponymous TV series, The Monkees insisted on touring as a real musical act and, for a time, sold more records than the Beatles. Though The Monkees aired just two years, the group prevailed with a long legacy of chart-topping hits.Told by those whose careers and lives were impacted by the phenomenon, Biography: The Monkees is the story of four actors  assembled by Hollywood casting agents into one of the most iconic bands in pop music history.

BIO Remembers: Davy Jones chronicles the life of Davy Jones, the former jockey turned actor, musician and teen heartthrob who helped lead The Monkees to superstardom. Though he went on to become a devoted husband and father, Jones never stopped performing, appearing in both theatrical productions and solo concerts around the world.

  1. I was a very bid Monkees fan and Davy Jones was always the number one star of the group. I saw his music special last year on PBS and thought he looked great. So sad for his daughters to loose their father. He had personality plus and heaven truly got an angel.
