“Dog The Bounty Hunter” scorecard: Leland’s out

Fellow Dog fans, is it just me or does it suddenly seem like figuring out which family members are still in the business and which are out is as hard to pin down as the fugitives the Chapman clan hunts?

• Update: Leland Chapman launches new fan forum

Following the reappearance of his big brother Duane Lee Chapman in the series’ Jan. 18 episode, it looks like Leland — the long-running A&E series’ resident heartthrob — is the latest to go AWOL. And this time it looks like it could be for good.

“You can’t trust anyone these days friends family everyone has there own agenda” Leland tweeted yesterday, followed immediately by the confirmation of his fans’ worst fears — “Yes I no longer work on the show.”

The 35-year-old father of three then got busy promoting his new Facebook page and impending official website, and hinting at the enterprise which ostensibly drew him away from the show that made him a star.

“So you wanna be a bounty hunter? Leland b chapman bounty hunter training academy coming to a city near you check my website for details” he tweeted this afternoon.

According to the counter on the website’s sole page, the site is still a month away from its official debut, leaving Leland-philes the remaining episodes of Dog The Bounty Hunter‘s ninth season and his frequent social-media messages to tide them over.

New episodes of Dog The Bounty Hunter air Wednesday nights on A&E.

  1. Dog & Beth have screwed everyone they’ve worked with in the past over.

For greed, money and promises not kept.

Now they have Leland’s son on the show and Cecily learning how to be bounty hunters.

It’s only a matter of time before those two end up on missing child posters.

  2. MaryEllen, Bobby Brown, their nephew, Tim (dogs brother), Leland, Duane Lee and Lyssa are all the people they’ve screwed over b/c of money and promises not kept.

Now they have Leland’s son on the show and Cecily learning how to be bounty hunters.

  4. @lorie: if you turn your life around 360 degrees then you’re right back where you started. You mean 180 degrees–sorry, it’s a pet peeve of mine.

  6. I really like this reality show. I appreciate the family’s honesty. I like how they give GOd the credit to bringing them where they are now. They give so much hope and inspiration to so many people. This is truly one of the BEST ever reality TV shows. THey are themselves. They don’t hide. THey are real people with real problems and that’s why we love them. We are sick, sick sick of stupid ass shows like Kardashians, oh soooo boring. They let things roll as they are. God bless this family and rock on…

    • I have loved following the Chapman family. They all have inspired me with their various gifts to “find and fix” those who are in trouble. I also love the fact that they call themselves, a second chance family. I am a second chance person and by the grace of God, I have turned my life around 360 degrees, and raised my children to be hard working and forgiving adults.

I have just heard the Leland and Duane Lee will be leaving the show for good. I had hopes that Duane Lee would come back and the family would be together again. I hurt for the family. I can only pray for them and hope that regardless of the show, that all the family members (both on and off the show) find it in themselves to come together and find the victory over Satan, who in the end, is fighting to pull them apart from one another.

I respect and care for each member and want you to know that I pray for your family, on a weekly basis. May God richly bless each and every one of you.
