Duane Lee Chapman returns to “Dog The Bounty Hunter”

UPDATE: A&E cancels Dog the Bounty Hunter

It’s been the talk the Dog The Bounty Hunter fan base and Twitter-verse for months: Has Dog’s eldest son, Duane Lee Chapman, finally abandoned the family, the bounty-hunting business and the much-loved A&E series for good, after a previous close call two years ago?

In case you missed Wednesday night’s episode, Greed Is Good, the answer is no.

Without fanfare or explanation, Duane Lee’s back like he never left — a big relief, especially for fans who never quite got over the abrupt departure of Timothy Chapman, the only Da Kine Bail Bonds Bounty hunter not directly related to the Dog, whose 2009 legal woes led to his departure from the show. Best guess for Duane Lee’s absence is that he was handcuffed by love, a theory augmented by photos and info on his Facebook page.

Legal woes for the Da Kine clan surface again in this Wednesday’s all-new episode, Tears for Fears, which addresses the March 2011 arrest of Dog’s only bounty hunting daughter, Baby Lyssa Chapman — an event that reduces her dad to tears.

Dog The Bounty Hunter airs Wednesday nights at 10/9pm CT on A&E.

  1. I have enjoyed, and am enjoying, the show. These are very talented people, and we have a need for them in our society.
What did grab me after reading all the comments is – the poor spelling and lousy puncuation you all have displayed. Go back to school and take an english class.

  2. beth and dog are two phoneys , they preach and pray , but it all about the money and keeping there gig on ”cmt ”. beth is a big mouth who just looks to ”egg ” on the suspects ,then calls the men over to protect her.

    • I wasn’t surprised this comment comes from a man. Admittedly, I find Beth’s hard edge at times cringe worthy, however, I believe all women could learn some strength from her.

Is it so hard to imagine that a person can be doing going works and still make a living. It sounds like a little jealously to me.

Further more, the people they are dealing with are criminals on some level. Would you like them to ask them “please do you mind putting your hands behind your back so we can take you to jail?” Really?? I believe you have to speak their language in order to get their attention.

Put this show in perspective and see the good they do. I find it amazing they at least don’t just throw them in jail with no hope or kindness.

In the end, considering your take on their show and vocation, I suggest turn the channel and let those of us who are entertained and uplifted to enjoy the show and their message without your negativity.

  3. I AM SO LOOKING FORWARD TO IT. ALL THE CHAPMANS ARE AWESOME BUT BETH IS MY FAVORITE.

  4. l too love the show, but there comes a time in someones life that there’s only so much a person can take, and then it’s time to move on to other things..l do wish the show to continue the way it has been from the first day it aired!! God bless them all..

  6. i too love the show ,its sad the two boys left wont be the same without them ,if duane lee back thats great but still nothe same without leyland and his cheeky smiling face ,i hear he has started his own bail bond business .

  7. You guys are truly an inspiration. I love how after every capture no matter what the fugitive put you thru, you still have the ability to put aside hard feelings and show remorse and compassion and try to convince them it will be ok.

  8. Duane Lee please return to Dog The Bounty Hunter we all miss u. I watched the show and wished I had a family like your family. Life is hard because of the show I stopped using Meth and am going back to school to get a degree in psychology for drug and domestic violence “

    • Just a piece of information fans may not know. I have come to find out that this reality show produced by A&E is not the first one that has cancelled their contract with the network due to unethical production of the show.

A&E id only interested in good tv not true TV. The claim has been made and proven they take tapings and splice the episodes to their liking not to the real happenings.

Understand, reality tv is still entertainment, but A&E has taken it to a whole different level.

I for one, am elated Dog & Beth have moved to a new network.

  9. i am a huge fan!! but at the end of the day they are a family..i think people get to caught up in the show and not realising they are their own lil family, nobody else is envolved, everybody just watch.. i hope they make good with each other not put up with what has been written about them..
    best of luck all

    Learn to live together.

You all have made me the person I Am don’t stop
    Now

  12. Stop being stupid and grow up many people love the show and love wachting you ALL taking part just please please grow up and don’t leave

  13. They need to cut the ambilical cord and move on. Stand on your own two feet and grow the hell up. Quit being in THE DOGS (daddies) shadow. Get your own business started and tell the producers to F— Off.. They act like they own you when you do a stupid reality show.

    • I just wonder what you think these two young men can move on toward? The producers of this show are the reason the Chapman boys are not in prison in Mexico. Check your facts before you spout. This young man finally seems to have realized his debt of gratitude to his family. Bravo Duane Lee. It seems you are able to make good adult decisions.

  14. I hope Duane Lee DOES return. I just watched the episode about Lyssa. WOW, it was emotional and wonderful. Anyone with an addition of ANY kind should watch that. It is uplifting and educational. Good lesson for parents and kids alike.
Duane, I don’t care WHO you love, go back and do your job on DTBH, you are missed there and can still love your woman. Be a man about it.
