“Family Guy” hits the big screen for one-night event

By Jeff Pfeiffer

To help you gear up for the upcoming 10th season premiere of FOX’s hit animated comedy Family Guy — and if you live in certain areas — you can try to attend the special one-night only, exclusive, “Something, Something, Something Anniversary” midnight screening event this Thursday, Sept. 15, being held in 10 cities around the country. The event is in celebration of the series’ 10th anniversary (although the show began 12 years ago, there were some lost years in there after FOX had temporarily canceled it).

Screening events will feature an exclusive sneak peek of the season premiere episode, “Lottery Fever,” in which the Griffins win the lottery and then struggle to stay grounded. Attendees will also be treated to one of the most popular episodes in Family Guy history — “Road to the Multiverse” — as selected by fans on Facebook, along with a not-yet-released 22-minute bonus feature film from the upcoming Family Guy  Volume 9 DVD slated to hit stores on Dec. 13. This film is called “History of the World,” and it tells the creation of the Earth from the typically (and humorously) warped Family Guy perspective.

Also on hand will be merchandise, such as new interactive figures and playsets, games, and Family Guy apparel, including an exclusive commemorative T-shirt.

Tickets are free on a first-come, first-served basis, and can be reserved by RSVPing to the e-mails below, next to the list of participating theaters.
