By Barb Oates

There was plenty of talent that graced the stages at the Television Critics Association (TCA) press tour yesterday. Below is our list of the top quotes of the day gathered from the panels and one-on-one interviews.

1. Chuck Wepner  (The Real Rocky, ESPN)

“Even though I was a 40:1 shot against Ali, I was I was ready for the fight, you know. I was always very sure of myself. Everybody always asked me, ‘Do you really think you can win?’ I always thought I could win. As a matter of fact, the night before the title fight, I took my wife out, and I bought her a powder blue negligee. And I said, ‘I want you to be wearing this because tonight you are going to be sleeping with the heavyweight championship of the world.’ Anyway, I came back to the room after the fight. I walked in. She was sitting on the end of the bed in a negligee. She said, ‘Am I going to Ali’s room, or is he coming to mine?’

2. Carrie Stevens (Miss June 1997, Playboy Playmate)

On Crystal Harris’ recent comments to Howard Stern about dumping Hugh Hefner. “She’s a lying little bitch. And you can quote me on that.”

3. Dennis Anderson (Around the World In 80 Ways, History)

On working with Survivor‘s “Boston Rob” Mariano:

“I look at Rob like a piece of chocolate, it’s good if you have a little piece of it here and there. Too much of it makes you sick.”

4. Tom Cavanagh (Debbie Macomber’s Trading Christmas, Hallmark Channel)

“I spent part of my childhood in Africa, and I wondered if – as a young fellah, I wondered if Santa knew where Winneba on the coast of Africa was. And so I had a lot of, I wouldn’t say tension, but I was worried that he was [wasn’t going to be able to find me].” How old were you? “16. Maybe 15.” “No, I was like four.”

5. Chuck Wepner (The Real Rocky, ESPN)

“I don’t know where you’re from: Mars. Venus. If you haven’t heard about the fact that I’m the inspiration for the real “Rocky,” like on the commercial, you must be living under a rock, son. Because it’s been in the national television, all over the papers.”
