This Sunday, as Breaking Bad begins its fourth season, AMC is sneaking a first-look video at the much-anticipated Season 2 of The Walking Dead. Through six episodes last fall, The Walking Dead — based on the comic book series that follows the survivors of a zombie apocalypse — garnered record ratings for the network in the key adults 18-49 demographic. Welcome back, Hell on Wheels fans. Mr. B is not around this week, but Durant’s scheme and its costs require an entire episode. I’m happy it’s mostly over and done, though I’m certain of residuals. It was a nightmare from its inception, and the price paid for his egotistical stupidity far surpasses the $250,000 he so arrogantly expected. As I’ve said, I don’t hate the man. It is his birthday, he says, which she says rates him a free meal. He meets a guy in the bathroom, exchanges money for a car-key, leaves a hundred for his free birthday breakfast and exits to appraise the trunk full of the heavy machine gun and cache of ammunition he just purchased. Thus begins the long-anticipated Season 5 of AMC’s Breaking Bad, creator Vince Gilligan telling us again subtly what he has been telling us for […]
