First up is a performance by Blake Lewis. Now, during last season, I really liked a lot of things Blake did. He made songs a bit more interesting. However, he starts off this performance with some of his not finest beat-boxing. See, when you do that to a Bon Jovi song you’re unique. With your own ‘composition’ it’s just pedestrian. Cut the original crap & just redo a Morrissey album already. And suits shouldn’t be that shiny.
We cut to a lot of filler. A lot of filler. I fast-forward through a lot of filler.
The first to get the axe is Kady Malloy. No real surprise — Simon’s been completely right about her not showing much personality while singing. And I don’t know why she chose a skirt with a huge splat right at crotch level. It looks like a bad accident.
Oh, and we find out that America gets to comment on the Top 12 elimination shows. Boy, won’t that be fun.
When David Hernandez makes the Top 12, Ryan tells him to take a stool. I’ll leave it at that.
Oh, and thanks America for going boring & picking Chikezie over Danny Noriega. Nice. You’ve just given me 12 weeks of way less exciting TV. At least Christian won Project Runway. I’ll take comfort in that.
