ABC’s “The Great Christmas Light Fight”

Tonight on ABC, families who deck their halls on an epic scale compete for bragging rights — and cool cash as The Great Christmas Light Fight returns for Season 2. In each of tonight’s back-to-back episodes, four families from around the country showcase their elaborate light displays in the hopes of winning $50,000. Celebrity designers Michael Moloney & Sabrina Soto (both from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition) judge the amazing displays that feature thousands of choreographed lights, dozens of inflatables and plastic sculptures and living nativities.

Tonight’s first episode (airing at 8pm, ET) features four families from across the country showcasing their spectacular displays of Christmas magic. Check out the Weaver family’s 58’ castle with hand-painted Disney cutouts; the Barnard family’s live animal Nativity with 2 million lights sprawling across 8 acres; the Bagwell family’s impeccably synchronized musical masterpiece; and the Belcher family’s “talking house” that you have to see (and hear!) to believe. Who will judge Sabrina Soto award $50,000 and the coveted Christmas Light trophy?

In tonight’s second episode (airing at 9pm ET), a rooftop searchlight that required FAA approval helps attract spectators to the Daigle family’s display, where visitors are asked to donate toys to needy children. Also, the Loyas family explains the magnificent creation that they’ve built as a thank-you to the community that’s given them so much since their humble beginnings. Later, The Great Christmas Light Fight welcomes Tyler Horrocks and Joe Conway, the competition’s youngest contestants ever, who have combined their resources to create a DIY extravaganza. Finally, the Apruzzi family honors their history and their monster truck with a dazzling display of wire frames. Judge Michael Mooney is charged with the difficult task of choosing only one display to win a $50,000 prize and the coveted Christmas Light trophy.

Next week, ABC will premiere two more episodes filled with unique, jaw-dropping displays of festive fun.

  1. I really liked the fact that the owner of the winner actually made all of his characters. He did not buy wire that was already shaped and wrap them with lights. His was unique. Not that I did not like the 8 acre display. That was beautiful and something I would never be able to do but you can buy the wire items and string them.

  2. They won because of passion and heart.. It was done with blood sweat and tears. By hand.. Not technology like most of them
    .. They bring

  3. The winner of the light fight show that aired on 12/22/14 shouldn’t have won……..their display looked like it was just thrown together.I believe the only reason they won was because the couple is retiring .The best one was the last one that had the concession stand and the train .

  4. I watched all of yr shows and last wk in the second half there were 2 young menwho combinded there lights into one.
I have 2 od the Blow Mold figures which I don.t put up anymore and wondering how to get ahold of them too see if they would interested in having them. If you could get ahold of them and ask them to get in touch with me.

  5. Tyler Horrocks and Joe Conway (Or someone else) should post how to make that DIY Polar Express. I saw it and my family and I went crazy and look for it online… So get started!

  6. I was so sad to see that the commercial display in El Paso won over all the displays done by families over years of tradition. The wealthy people won the $50,000. Sad.

  8. ABC Christmas Light Fight was rigged. The winner from California was a Disney display……NOT CHRISTMAS. Imagine that….since ABC is owned by Disney. SHAME…SHAME….SHAME on you ABC.

How could the BIGGEST acreage, the BIGGEST light display and for the most years not win????? 8 acres, 2 million lights and displaying for 32 years. It beat out ALL the other displays. Could it be because JESUS’s Name was in lights????????
