Who’s In It? Viola Davis, Billy Brown, Alfred Enoch
Oscar-nominated actress Viola Davis is an emotional chameleon in How to Get Away with Murder, the latest ABC drama from can’t-miss executive producers Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers, the ladies who brought us Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice and Scandal.
In a role seemingly tailor-made for her, Davis plays Annalise Keating, a brilliant, ferocious defense attorney who also teaches Criminal Law — or, as she prefers to call it, “How to Get Away With Murder” — at fictional Middleton University in Philadelphia.
While every student in Keating’s class gets a lesson in ingenious defense tactics and inventive thinking, she selects a handful of the best prospects to join her private firm for hands-on experience in how to win cases at all costs, while doing her best to mask a personal life that’s more complex than anything she’s encountered in the courtroom.
“I wanted to have a character that took me out of my comfort zone,” says Davis. “I love the fact that she’s messy and mysterious and you don’t know who she is. She’s messy. She’s a woman. She’s sexual. She’s vulnerable.”
As guileless, eager learner Wes Gibbins, Enoch (the Harry Potter film franchise’s Dean Thomas) stands out among the talented young cast playing Keating’s acolytes — a quick-thinking quintet that soon gets more than they bargained for in the field-experience department.
Part nighttime soap, part crime drama and wholly entertaining, How to Get Away With Murder is yet another reason Rhimes is the undisputed queen of must-see TV.
How to Get Away With Murder premieres Thursday, Sept. 25 at 10/9CT on ABC.

I am liking this program, how to get away with murder… BUT, I am totally confused with the side line of the four, murder, who it is, etc. Where does this fit in?
