  1. I remember when Alaska was completely read after the challenge that she did the farmer. And now Milk was only half read.
C’mon, if her make-up was at least meh, it would be ok, but it was terrible with that bald cap terribly blended into her skin.
I couldn’t agree more with Courtney when she said that maybe Milk doesn’t have the make-up skills needed to do glam looks on the runway.

  2. They should have kept Gia around for the young catty fish drama. It would have been nice to see the vulnerable side of her…oh well…

MILK! Let me see if I can understand this one. He is afraid to do glamour/fish drag because he is afraid that everyone will laugh at his (lack of) makeup artistry skills. He sticks with what he knows….bad makeup and claiming it to be “gender fuck”. Yeah, let’s call it that.

In his defense though, they NEVER said which Ru he had to dress as. No one said “Okay now you have to dress up like Ru…in female drag!” No such thing was said. Drag; dress as girl. I guess it. Isn’t mens clothing a form of costumery, gender expression…and therefore a form of drag too? I think he did a GREAT job at pulling off an EXCELLENT over-the-top RuPaul. Didn’t anyone notice how he portrayed RuPaul’s character? I’m a professionally trained actor and I know GENIUS when I see it. It was startling and caught everyone off guard, but isn’t that what always seems to work in the artists favour…whether it’s Drag Race or Project Runway?

Milk is different. We get it. He wants to stay “true to himself” (which yes on both Drag Race and Project Runway always gets their asses thrown off the show shortly after) but he is seeming one note.

Maybe that’s his strategy. Maybe he’ll shock the hell out of everyone by pulling off ultra fish/glam/couture since surprise/shock seems to be his shtick. Well, I’m HOPING he’ll surprise us all with his versatility…hoping!

If not, send the bitch home.

    • Preach!

I’m not sure Milk is afraid of her makeup skills – I thought she did great on the first challenge (minus the beard). Not sure what she’s afraid of, but I have a feeling it’ll be coming to an episode of RPDR or Untucked near you!

And you’re right – there were no specifications of girl Ru, which is what makes me think there were some producer shenanigans going on. Cause I CANNOT imagine that Milk got that idea on her own, got dressed in the workroom with the other girls and NONE of the rest of them said anything? Please.

Actually, I think I’m going to watch it again to see if we ever see her putting on makeup in the workroom with the other girls. I’m guessing not.

But yes, she better do something shocking, and right now pants are not shocking. At. All.

  3. Hey girl Hey!!!!

    Excellent recap, per norm!!!

Ok, let’s start from the bottom and work our way up shall we???

First things first, am I sad to see Gia go?? Not really, she was never really one of my fav’s although her runway was ALWAYS tight and I don’t think anyone can knock her for that. She was bitchy but I must admit most of her comments made me chuckle…must speak to the mean girl inside me, but her being gone doesn’t do anything for me, I’m just gonna miss her runway stuff. If I’m going off of Severin’s list then I’d swap her and Laganja’s spot because AT LEAST Laganja was givin me aesthetically pleasing Rachel Zoe, as soon as Gia took off those sunglasses, I was like NOPE, Not Kim K! Also, that suit jacket??? Just no.

Laganja….(sigh)…I am tryin sooooooo hard to be in her corner but last night on UNTUCKED…homegirl had me pullin away! I wanted to be like GIRL….GET IT TOGETHER!!!! I get that the moment was kinda moved quickly away from her last time but you gotta let it go. And that stuff with Adore…what did she expect her to apologize for when she doesn’t even remember what she said? It obviously didn’t effect her that much if she can’t even remember, I mean not even a version of what she said that saddened her??? Nothing…umm no. I’m glad Adore didn’t apologize, and I would have added in “I’m not apologizing for, or trying to understand feelings of INSANITY!!! Who’s gonna apologize for something they don’t remember doing, no one has the time to apologize for things just because! I think she’s been a great contender (runways usually good, decent in the challenges) in this race but her attitude is starting to really suck, as someone who say’s they’re unshakable, she is lookin like a shaky gal to me. I don’t understand where her issues are coming from, I mean I love a live action gal, she’s like at a 17 and I wish she could turn it to a 10 but I’m all about expressive people but she’s just startin to do too much and I completely agreed with Bianca last night when she said maybe if she did a little less heyyy mama, hey girl, (click click click) and a little more of a pat on the back to herself and APPLY IT TO WHAT SHE’S DOING, she really would be unshakable…but for now…just ….I don’t know, I just need her to get it together!

As far as the game goes, the middle was the middle…

I told you that Courtney’s Fran might not land, she LOOKED like her and kudos for being daring, but it was flat, not horrible, just safe, and truly this is the only snafu she’s had with me and with the competition I think so She’s still in my top 3 I think!

Trinity looked A LOT like niki but I told you if she wasn’t crazy enough I was gonna be worried, and what a surprise she wasn’t, and I don’t take her “I was switching wigs so I couldn’t write an answer” excuse cuz Chad did it THREE TIMES and wrote some great responses, so it can be done missy! Now Trinity did fly on my radar and I loved her on Untucked sharing her status last night, very brave, very honest, good on her, HERE’S MY PROBLEM…she has a defeatist attitude…Her whole “They’re not listening to me, the other girls are better than me!” is such BULL! Honey, you beat out I don’t even know how many drag queens apply to this show, No doubt its a crazy lot, and you’re doing fine, not great, but if you’re saying you’re gonna suck right out the gate then you’re already losing half the battle, I don’t know if I can support the “I suck except for challenges that are gonna be really easy to me” attitude, I mean c’mon hon, her and Laganja need to take a couple chill pills with their cocktails!

D Lake…WHERE WAS HER PROPS?!?!?!?!? She’s givin me runway all the time..loved her “Girtha Kitt” joke, but c’mon as Paula deen (who she did look like), she made me chuckle but, only one butter prop??? that’s crazy, she should have been scooping it by the barrel full!!!! definitely a middle this week, and I can understand her being upset at the beginning but like you said, it was about the performance…not the runway.

Joslyn…ok…I admit it…I’m kinda hatin on Jos…but that’s mainly because I don’t think she’s done anything to WOW me…she’s been safe…a lot……At least I talk about those who suck…she’s just flyin under the radar and it worries me because I don’t want another Rebecca Glasscock who scores a seat in the top 5 or 3 just becase she’s doing nothing memorable or going crazily outside the box…but on Untucked she is the level head, she’s kinda a ditz but she’s lovable and she’s keeping the cast on an even keel of humanity but still…I’m just not a fan yet.

Adore…was……BRILLIANT!!! I really enjoyed her portrayal of Anna…reminded me of when Anna first came out and the world was like is this chick for real?? she’s crazy and we love it! The voice, the movements, very on point! Loved the detail of crossing out the H in her name for Nicole…she clearly took a cue from Willam’s Jessica, but still, it’s the details that matter. Glad she got cinched up, I agree with the judges that length is probably gonna be an issue with her, for some reason I see her getting her gowns where most teen girls go to get their prom dresses because that’s what the length reminds me of! Still, I’m now glad that she’s steppin up her game and proving that her going home and getting saved was worth it , if she made it into the top 4, I’d be happy!

Bianca- WOW, I mean she had a mini Bailiff Bird….everybody loves puppets! from Snatch to the Runway, she had this stuff on luck and is really proving to be such a contender, definitely top 3 material! Her comments are snarky but always funny and she has a heart in there. I loved that she offered her cincher to Adore, I mean I have no doubt if Adore had asked if any of the girls had an extra one they would have given it up but the fact that Bianca OFFERED was really kind of her, she was like I see a young queen who’s getting yelled at for something she doesn’t have, I have an extra, and I want to compete with someone at their best so here’s the cincher…I mean Adore still got rad for length but Bianca gave her the tools to help her succeed, and whether she did or not is the other persons thing. I also loved her on Untucked, PUT IT AND APPLY IT TO WHAT YOU’RE DOING!, loved it, true words for a competition were never spoken and she said it matter of factly and even told Laganja to shake it off and do her thing on the runway and she congratulated Trinity for shuttin it down when they came into the work room too despite their previous tension working together, that shows a mature queen and a good person, I am a Bianca fan and I’m rootin for top 3 for her!

BENDELACREME!!!! Bendela for the win-dela!!!! Now this is the chick to watch out for!!! She’s bringing it on the runways, the challenges, and Snatch Game was no different…remember when I said it’s in the details??? I mean who brings a script pen for things??? That’s well thought out and planned, no I wasn’t buyin the I don’t do an English accent baloney, because me and my friends play English madam at work all the time, it ain’t that hard! She’s rocking it and she’s just unstoppable at this point for me, I mean she’s hitting these challenges head on, I’m loving what she’s doing, her personality’s great, a true artist, just YES!!!!

Milk….oh milk…ok…her Snatch game was surprisingly dull..she coulda had food and pots and pans all over the place, she had none and I was surprised since she is such a character actor/queen. Her runway?? Is she taking it too far??? Ok…here’s the thing, it’s not a pants thing….pants are done on the runway a la Nina Flowers (season 1 and all stars) and Stacey Lane Matthews (Season 3) Suits have been done on the runway a la Tyra (season 2) Alaska (season 5) and Mulan (season 4)…and Milk has done pants a la RuPaul’s big opening…the sequel….the thing is she KNEW which RuPaul they were talking about, and I understand thinking outside of the box, but I somewhat agree with the girls that it’s starting to get a bit much, not the pants thing…the boy thing. There’s a fine line between Androgy and boy, I mean do the judges wanna see glam??? yes, I think its fair to ask if they’re asking the pagent girls to do singing, dancing, acting, comedy challenges and that’s not their forte! take for instance my main homegirl Jinky, when Michelle said give me glam, she did, in her own way she gave 1920s glam with two-tone tights, and kept steppin up her game. They didn’t ask her to change who she is, they just said GLAM and she gave it. Sharon gave unconventional looks and they were glam…Nina gave unconventional looks and they were Glam, stay true to you, no one’s saying CHAAAAANNNNGGGGGEEEEEEEE, they’re just sayin give us something WOW, I have seen duct tape dresses that were glam…it’s about being flexible and saying I am just as beautiful as the pagent queens and have just as much talent as all the other queens and more, I’m flexible! I imagine more Milk drama cuz they’re gonna be like step it up!!!!!

    Other notes:

This. lipsync. was. BLAH!!!! And I’m so sad about it, because Trinity’s and April’s last week gave me hope that we were on a streak of memorable lip sync’s and now…eh….but hopefully since Eve and Trina will be the guest judges next week, the lip synch song will be rap and if they don’t bring a memorable lip-sync with a rap song then I weep for the future of the lip sync’s this season!

    • Hey Kei!

I was thinking about you on that lipsynch, wondering if Laganja was bringing it for you, cause she wasn’t for me. I think if she can get in a good headspace, she could bring an amazing lipsynch. But that wasn’t it Monday night.

And about Milk – she DID give glam in that first runway challenge. Granted she had a beard, but they all loved her pantsuit outfit. So she CAN do it. I’m wondering if the show is setting up another ‘she’s showing her vulnerability’ reveal like Shannel’s in season 1. Milk just has to do it without a wig.

      • Yeah, I was a little saddened by Laganja’s performance last night…Gia’s 2, since they wer ALWAYS dancing when they came in the workroom and then on the stage Gia was givin me super slow mo and Laganaja was just super random, and I’ve SEEN her videos, I KNOW she can do better, plus she’s a choreographer…half of me thinks it probably was her mind space and the other half of me thinks she didn’t want to go too hard on her girl…still disappointing to say the least! And Gia’s reveal…I have to quote Mulan from Season 4…”this is called Drag RACE….not Drag Walk” Shame on both the self-proclaim dancin’ queens!

Yeah if they do decide to do a Milk vulnerability thing it can’t be a wig thing…it’s. been. done! As an audience…we need more! And I know she can do more, which is why I’m not counting her out…YET, but I need her to bring it to the runway!

    • And about Trinity – I think either she’s not clearly communicating what her deal is, or she just doesn’t get what the other girls are trying to tell her. Again, it’s like Laganja (except less annoying) – put the energy you would spend on your frustration into your challenge. Everybody has something to work on and if you can only see your own faults, you’re going to beat yourself up.

        • Initially I thought she might be dumb, but not as the season has gone on. Insecure & lacking in self-confidence? Yes. Perhaps not a fan of conflict? Yes. Which makes me wonder what she was thinking in auditioning at this point. But outside of the workroom, she probably does stick up for herself & does have confidence. That all seems to have gone out the door once she got on this show.

      • I know right…the girls in the competition are already gonna be preying on your faults…its their job as competitors, but with her defeatist attitude its like well dang honey we don’t need to beat you down cuz you already beatin yourself. Maybe that message from her mom on UNTUCKED will re-nspire or re-ignite her fire to really compete against these girls, I mean of course she “already won” cuz she’s on the show, I mean MAJ accomplishment but there is nothing wrong with striving for more and wanting the crown…and the cash. Goin in saying I want to compete but I know I’m not gonna win…not the way to go, she needs to pick her head up. Do I honestly think she’s gonna win??? not really, but if she learns how to feel confident in what she’s doin and how well she does at runway, I think she’d be a perfect competitor on All Stars!

        • Like I was saying to Normandy, she probably has what she thought was enough confidence when she was on her home turf (and with her family, if she’s missing them so much). But she got into the competition and lost that confidence.

Unless she was in the same camp that Magnolia Crawford was – I just want to get in this competition to raise my name recognition and that’s it. Not sure if that’s the case with Trinity. Only time will tell!

  4. A very refreshing Snatch Game… Much better than the last two seasons in my opinion.
My personal ranking/thoughts on all the queens this episode:
    1. Ben DeLaCreme- Very tough between the top 4, but I decided to agree with RuPaul on this one. Her Maggie Smith was hilarious and greatly exceeded my expectations.
    2. Adore Delano- I loved her Anna Nichole Smith. It was witty and spontaneous. The last two episodes have worked to cancel out her earlier poor performances in my opinion.
    3. Bianca Del Rio- She is still my favorite this season, and she is keeping up her consistency with her Judge Judy performance. Awesome job as well.
    4. Joslyn Fox- I feel there should have been a top 4 this episode cause she was in the same realm as Ben, Adore, and Bianca. She was a lot better than I thought she would be, and she is quickly becoming one of my favorite queens this season.
    5. Darienne Lake- I chuckled a few times at her Paula Deen, more because of her facial expressions than what she was actually saying. Good impersonation, but wanted more.
    6. Courtney Act- Probably the lowest I’ve had her. Still one of my favorites, but not memorable enough in the snatch game.
    7. Trinity K Bonet- If the snatch game were just based on aesthetics, Trinity may have been top 3. However, her Nicki lacked some zaniness and spontaneity. The punch lines weren’t there.
    8. Milk- She was trying, but it didn’t come across as funny. I wonder how long she will stay if she doesn’t show the judges a glam side. I actually really liked her Ru ensemble, but I’d like to see if she could pull out a glamor look. Just once?
    9. Gia Gunn- The performance fell flat. I wasn’t too surprised. It was also kinda uncomfortable at times, but not as uncomfortable as Laganja’s Rachel Zoe.
    10. Laganja Estranja- Her look was on point, but everything else wasn’t. Her robtronic voice ruined it from the start. Also, she didn’t make it funny.
Overall I loved this episode. The queens pulled out some good performances. Looking forward to what the rest of the season has in store.

    • Nice top 10 Severin! I actually haven’t thought of how I would rank them, but we’re probably pretty close. Definitely think the bottom 2 was right on. Did you see Untucked? It made me dislike Laganja even more, although I also wonder how much of this is her & how much is she being coached by producers to get more dramatic. Especially the blow-up between her & Adore – that seemed really forced. I think she could be a really fun queen but she needs to probably grow up a little & let go of the defenses. Gia’s just been annoying, so I wasn’t too sorry to see her go.

I also agree with your top 3 – for me those 3 keep shifting as to who is on top. I hope all 3 of them make it far. I think either Joslyn Fox or Courtney Act may surprise us & boot one of them out of the top 3. Depending on how this season plays out, I might be ok with that. Or I may have to come for a bitch 😉

      Thanks for commenting!

  5. I loved this episode.

    My thoughts:
My top 3 has not changed: Bianca, Courtney, and Ben – Nothing to say other than Bianca and Ben being consistent with their characters and strong showing in games. Courtney is always amazing on the runway in my opinion, plus she is can be corky to boot.

Adore – Did good. I was a fan of hers until the 3rd episode where she lost me due to her runway and always being saved. She did herself a favor this week. I am still a fan, but I feel she is not going to be higher in the list unless she continues to improve.

Laganja – As over the top as she is, she does bring it in different ways (runway mostly). The sad part is she is been overly emotional since the beginning of the show. Despite me being on her side for a while, I realize I think she needs some attention. She would definitely benefit from a friend who listens. That is all I will say. I am not sure she will make it to the top 5 as predicted before based on how they are editing her. We will see.

D Lake – Is it me or is she taking over the bitchy role? I find her funny and quick at times, but as of late, she is not coming off well. Even with that, she can still bring it. I think she has a few more episodes in her as I still do not believe she will top any of my top 3 for this season currently.

Milk – Dang, I love individuality, but your drag tonight was EXTRA strange. I also do not like her snatch game portrayal. I see her going away soon. Still top 5 cause she is different?

Trinity – I like her a bit more this episode as she does always bring it on the runway. I do not see her lasting much longer on the show though considering she is always cuts herself down.

Joselyn – This girl grows on me more and more with each passing episode. I see her sneaking into the top 5 and further, but I do not see her in the top 3. Keep it up!

Gia – Many do not like her, but I actually like her and will miss her on the show. Sure she does make a lot of snark-y comments, but she redeemed herself a few times especially seeing how other girls are with her when she is in the episode. Everyone seem to be playful with her, and in Untucked she showed a different side which is awesome. Too bad she was the one that had to go. I wouldn’t have mind to see what else she could bring considering her live shows are great.

    • Casey,

I would like to see Gia live, but I wasn’t sorry to see her go. She seemed to relish the bitchy & unlike others that have gone that route, she just wasn’t funny about it to me. I wanted to hear more about her history & performing kabuki, but I guess that doesn’t make good TV.

About Milk – I also wonder if the producers told the girls “hey, wouldn’t it be cool if SOMEONE (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) did ‘workroom Ru?'” I can’t imagine, based off how much discussion there was about her beard, that the girls in the workroom WOULDN’T have been talking about Milk doing male Ru. Especially after seeing Untucked & all the smiles when Milk walked the runway – NOT what they showed on the episode, where it was just the panel of shocked faces. She might make the top 5. Not sure on that one. She’ll need to show some vulnerability – and she can’t do it losing a wig or ripping off a breastplate. Been. Done. Before.

And like I was saying to Severin – I think Laganja needs to toughen up or grow up. Either that or she’s getting fed some kind of story line from the producers to amp up the drama. If she keeps up with the defensive posturing, I don’t see her lasting too much longer.
