Last week on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6 we met the first half of the dragtestants. Now it’s time to meet the 2nd group in RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6 episode 2.
The second group gets to come in to the workroom after the first group has a mini celebration with cupcakes, some kind of pink drink and silly string. Mama Ru has to let them girls have it so they’ll go to bed. Don’t make Mama mad!
And so the next morning, or the next week or whatever kind of illusion we’re trying to foster here…. (wink, wink) the new crop of queens starts arriving.
- Bianca Del Rio is a drag Don Rickles. She gets a lot of screen time, probably because she is funny. And maybe because she’s a friend of Lady Bunny.
- Trinity K Bonet – the K apparently stands for Kardashian and apparently that’s not ok so she’ll just be known by K. She also claims that she’s the closest you’ll get to Beyonce.
- Joslyn Fox is all about the look & showing body. Joslyn will need to come up with something a little more unique than that or she’ll be sashaying away in relatively short order.
- Milk – this group’s club kid. An entire symphony as she puts it. She is closer to ‘kid’ than Vivacious at age 25. And did no one mention the toilet paper on her shoe?
- Magnolia Crawford is the world’s most glamorous trash queen with the sharpest nose on the planet. Milk is wondering who she’s pointing at.
- Courtney Act is looking for America’s Next Top Model. She’s the one that had been on Australian Idol (in drag!). She’ll also give Gia a run for her money in the fish department. Girl’s gonna get served.
- Darienne Lake – won the fan favorite and she’s this season’s big girl. She’s heavy cream to Milk.
Once all seven have assembled Ru lets them in on the ‘secret’ that they’re the 2nd group of girls to arrive.
To answer the question about the first mini-challenge the answer is no. There is no jumping challenge for this group as there has been for the last few seasons. Instead they pose on a bed with the pit crew. What starts as a standard sexy photo shoot devolves into a pillow fight for the messy factor. As usual some queens do well while others don’t know what to do. Sexy queens have the advantage over the funny queens. Courtney does great while Magnolia and Bianca are a little off. I feel bad for the crew that has to clean up the feathers between each shoot.
For some reason Trinity K Bonet wins the first challenge. She was pretty but I thought Courtney did better, even giving a little chicken clucking realness. Meh.
In the post-mini-challenge de-dragging we get a little crush starting between Courtney Act and Milk. Will there be some kai kai this season? Probably not. If there is I haven’t heard any rumors of it, or RuPaul saying 2 girls fell in love like last season. Tease! Total tease! Not true Ru!
Their mini-challenge to set up the mainstage look is different party packages as re-gifted by Trinity. Trinity of course keeps the Princess party for herself. While one might think that’s an easy box to pick, she mysteriously decides that she’s going to mix Kate Middleton and Princess Leia. Rly? With a big box of pink stuff?
Joslyn gets the quinceanera. Joslyn HAS to be putting on the dumb, right? She thinks the numbers in her box are house numbers. Girl, really? That’s a joke, right? Please tell me she’s not that dumb. Or just send her home today, that’d be fine with me too.
This week’s whiner is Magnolia Crawford with the hoe-down box which means she’ll probably win. While whining she tells Ru that her style is taking something ugly & making it pretty. So, girl, do that.
And Milk decides to go with a beard. Aaahhh…… huh? They’re not showing a lot of Milk ahead of time so it may be pretty fabulous. Risky, but fabulous. She calls it hermaphrodite realness.
There’s a lot going on on this runway show, some of which is courtesy of this week’s guest judge Khloe Kardashian. Of course the girls are excited that she’s on the panel. I actually like her & I’m not a Kardashian fan. She gives some decent feedback and is even slightly candid. I’m also a fan of her generous use of the word p#ssy.
There are some basic outfit lowlights – Darienne didn’t do much beyond a green top and skirt. Magnolia went with a simple cow dress. Snoooze. And then she got super defensive and angry with the judges. Don’t complain about your box, girl! I don’t think she’ll be meeting April Carrión to learn how to take a challenge that isn’t easy and turn it into something great.
On the other end of bad is Joslyn Fox and all the colors of the rainbow that threw up all over her. She out-Jade Jolies Jade Jolie, and that girl could add an accessory and a color. Or twenty.
This week’s winner is Bianca Del Rio and her Rolodex of Hate. She’s an example of many colors that are actually working together to create an outfit. Also safe are Trinity, Milk, Courtney Act and Joslyn Fox.

ation are Magnolia Crawford and Darienne Lake. Darienne is owning the stage while Magnolia is stuck in one spot for some weird reason. So of course Darienne Lake, shantay you stay.
As a final parting words Magnolia lets us know that any publicity is good publicity. As Ru would say, well all right….
Before we go, we’re treated to a little view of the 2 groups finally meeting each other. Ooh, so tense! Until next week, when I imagine we’ll hear some squealing & see some hugging. But that’s for next week.

Ok, gotta take it from the ending first and say I LOVED the last 30seconds of this show, it gave me so much!!! I have never wanted to speed through the week and the weekend so fast! I knew it was gonna be TEAM 1 vs TEAM 2 and even if its not like for the rest of the show, cuz I do hope they attempt to get along, but I love their kinda stickin to their crews, oh how the drama builds, I can’t wait to see “WHEN QUEENS MEET!!! (in my best drama rama mrs.movie phone voice!)
Now back to the queens…
Bianca: I really liked her entrance!!! She’s funny. Her photo shoot was ok, but she kinda had her self beat when she said it was hard for her to do sexy, and considering we’re in a world where it seems like EVERYTHING is a fetish, she could have rocked it clown style, and her dress was painted on her body but instead it was ok. But she shut everybody up on the runway, she had that dress SNATCHED on her body! Plus i love how when she was makin it, she had her measuring tape around her neck, like I see all the real seamstresses do, so that was a good nod to her profession! Quick witted and has style, that’s a awesome combo for this competition, but what I worry for her is that she IS so quick witted and she’s an insult comic. Too much insult one time and she might find herself on the lonely side and people just wanting her to shut up, but for now, she’s givin me laughs and I like it…for now!
Trinity: I wasn’t checkin for her…but she’s on my radar now. Her entrance was just so-so. At this point in the game they should know they get a minute to make an entrance and she just stepped in and stepped in2 the work room, barely got a chance to check out her whole outfit! The reason I wasn’t checkin for her is cuz her meet the queen video really did nothing for me, but after this I was pleasantly surprised! Her photo shoot was good, she’s one of the fishier, cute, sexy queens, so she should have rocked it and although ehr photo was good to me, I didn’t think she should have won. That being said, she did REALLY good at the runway! It seems we have another sewer, which is great, I’m glad these queens can sew!! She did great with her box, and despite what Michelle said, I liked her collar, I felt like it really went with her Princess Leia theme, I actully thought she should have won cuz her outfit came with a whole presentation (yes I’m clockin the baby powder, but I loved it!) but I guess the collar was an offense they couldn’t let pass plus all Bianca had to do was soften the eyes and her dress was SNATCHED on. Trinity’s commentaries were good and I genuinely liked her, she did a makeup I didn’t think she’d do on the runway so that had me sayin I want to see what else she’s got up her sleeve!
Joslyn: well…..she’s….pretty!!! Well look, her entrance was decent, she was showin off her bod, and she’s gorgeous and she has great legs, no shade! She did good at the photo shoot, as I thought she would, she’s a fishy queen so this shoot was MADE for them. Then we get to the runway…she had on EVERYTHING! It was like what Bianca had said about her jewelry earlier with her fallin on a rack and walkin out with everything and that is exactly what happened with her box, I don’t think there was a piece of fabric she didn’t use…except maybe the numbers 15! She looked like Vegas showgirl reject from CarNiVal! That being said, it wasn’t constructed horribly, it was just 2 much, homegirl needs to learn editing. Aside from that…her personality had me wanting to reach through with a 2liter plastic bottle and bonk her on the head and say “Honey…THINK!!!…THINK before you just start sayin words!” Especially with that whole quincenera thing…I mean..c’mon! Plus that laugh was startin to get to me…I don’t completely dislike her but if I had to pick someone to go home next, I’m wouldn’t be upset if she left! But she seems very nice and sweet, I just had to see what else she can do…
Milk: I.LOVE.MILK!!!!!!! From the moment she walked in the door, LOVED her entrance and yes the girls are on major shade alert for not tellin her she had a streamer on her shoe, but she’s so tall, maybe nobody was lookin down! I really liked her photo shoot and not just cuz I love her, but hers was the only one that gave a profile in front of the feathers and that was really hard cuz those things were EVERYWHERE, plus I loved that she embraced it, forget that she’s not the most fishy glamorous queen, she just went with it. Out of drag, what a cutie ootie!!! Loved the shorts and buttom up and white sneakers a la 90s style! On the runway she ROCKED it, do we have another sewer on our hands cuz those pants were great, I agree with Santino, that looked like some stuff you see on the runway and although you could never wear it in real life, you can marvel at how pretty and well constructed and flowy it is on the runway! I’m thoroughly impressed, I love that this batch of queens know how to use a needle and thread, sewing machine or can hot glue REALLY well! I didn’t like the beard though…sorry bout it! I appreciate her going through her overall conceived look and I know from seeing her pictures she likes to do things like milk mustaches (get it) but the beard, not workin for me, but kudos to her for being different, sometimes pants can read weird on the runway but she did a really good job, I can’t wait to see what else she brings to the table…
Magnolia: Glad she’s gone…
Court—-I’m just kidding!!!!! Consider this, her entrance wasn’t horrible, she introduced herself as the worlds glamorous trash queen and that’s EXACTLY what she gave me! Her whole look was ultra super trailer trash Peg Bundy still rockin a fanny pack with proably a cigarette behind the ear and don’t you tell them they are not the sh*t kinda attitude and style! I wasn’t checkin for her cuz her Meet the Queen video gave me nothing…and she didn’t disappoint, her whole time gave me nothing. Her photo shoot was just eh. She was the only one who bitched about the box and I don’t really see why ONLY BECAUSE she said, she likes to take the ugly and make it glamorous…well, here’s your chance and she made a cow print dress which she seemed to think was original but has she never been to the South? Believe me, it can be found…EASILY…on top of her outfit just being a snooze, her personality was for sh*t, if you want a for sure way of gettin out of favor with Ru, take the criticism adn get straight defensive for really nothing personal! And if her nose is her signature then THATS what you speak up about, let the dress go!
Courtney: I really like Courtney, and I wasn’t sure if I was going to, her Meet the Queen had me interested but I was like hmm…NOW I see the appeal, she’s not just GORGEOUS…but she’s FUNNY!!!!!!! She’s one of those beautiful people who you can completely understand good things happening to them cuz although glamorous, they don’t take themselves so seriously that they can’t let loose and have a good time, which is why her entrance was great AND her photo shoot was SEXY and FUN and I thought, she should have won the photo! Felt like she was kinda robbed. I appreciate how she took Republican party box and only used the blue which is Democratic parties colors, so that was hilarious, but appreciate that she’s showin off her body, thats her thing, again it looks like she at least knows how to hot glue, yeah her train was too long but overall I really see the appeal, she’s got a great personality, she’s beautiful, I’m lovin it so far!
Darienne: A big girl, love it, and she’s funny! Her entrance was good, her photo shoot was good, she embraced it, and I thought it was hilarious and really cute!! Her commentaries were good and funny and she didn’t complain about the box! Here’s the problem…it was pedestrian…i think she was a bit worried of makin it too much like a leprechaun so she really didn’t do anything. Agreed with the judges again that it was pedestrian and something you can easily find at dress barn in the fancy section, she coulda put that sequins as a skirt and it woulda looked more successful than a simple shirt and skirt combo! She’s pretty though, loved her presentation even if the outfit was pedestrian! I expect big things from her…pun intended!
The Lipsync was better than last weeks and this was great for Darienne because her outfit kinda worked along with the song which was disco and her shirt was givin me that! Magnolia got stuck and Darienne was having fun and workin the whole stage, still no lip-sync thats gonna make the list of top lip syncs BUT the season is just getting started, still I hope next week it’s better cuz 2 semi dull lip syncs is not a great way to start out considering usually the first ones are memorable enough because no one wants to be the FIRST eliminated, but this was definitely better so hopefully it’ll keep pickin up steam! Glad Magnolia’s gone like I said before, I watched the Untucked and she kinda didn’t want to be there, and I don’t know if that was an act but it dang sure didn’t seem like it and considering who all try out and how she was feelin about being there, its like good riddance, see ya at the reunion!
*Side note…when Ru announces that its time to LIP SYNC FOR YOUR LIFE…was I the only one who noticed they added a thunder sound effect and a little lightening effect? I was like WTH? and started crackin up!!!! I mean I love the intensity of it, I was just kinda shocked like wow, they are really adding to this moment, so next time they better bring it!!!

Trinity: I thought she was going to be another Tyra Sanchez – pretty but kinda dull, or at least reserved which doesn’t usually translate well in a reality TV show. I was pleasantly surprised. Even though she didn’t do well one on one with Bianca, she definitely showed personality in the ‘confessional’ booth.
Milk: I think the streamer/toilet paper was on purpose, although I was surprised no one mentioned it.
Magnolia: If you’re doing a show for exposure, do the damn show. Don’t just half ass it and get voted off early so you’ll barely be remembered. No one has done the show better for exposure than Willam. If you’re not following her lead, step off.
Didn’t get a chance to Untuck yet. That’s on my agenda for tonight.
Next week should be fun!
Once you see untucked you’ll see why I was so anti-Magnolia…and like I said, her entrance was good and she was quick witted too and when she wasn’t bitchin (which seemed like much of the show) she made me chuckle, plus I’m tellin you I KNOW that kinda chick, I see her at the bowlin alley or goin in2 Bingo night or hear her actually cuz that tacky gold plated jewelry be clackin up a storm, and you can’t tell her ANYTHING, hahaha, but after seeing Untucked…yeah, the time for her to go was NOW…like RIGHT NOW!!!!
Knowing from I’ve seen of Milk…it coulda been on purpose…I feel like she’ll get asked that at the reunion!
I thought the same about Trinity, but then watching I was like THANK GOODNESS, some personality!!
I think all the girls have personality this time around, I may not love all of them but no one’s coming off as the wallflower that’s for sure!

Oh I clocked it, girl, I clocked it. I think the acting challenge is next week & it’s some kind of horror scene. It’ll be interesting to see if the keep up the ‘horror’ theme all season or if they drop it after next week.
Saw Untucked last night. Bye Magnolia! But enough of her. I enjoyed the brief discussion of having sex in drag & all the complications that can arise. I think it’s one of the areas where the show is really strong, especially in Untucked. Discussing topics that are NEVER discussed on TV, if even for a moment.
I mean I don’t want Drag Race to turn into a weepy documentary or anything but I feel like there are these little educational nuggets that are coated in a candy, sparkly coating of deliciousness. Love that. More TV needs to be like that.
I don’t think it’ll stay all horror, I think it’ll be campy horror like those 70’s B movies that were suppose to be horror and they probably were back in the day but you look at it now like WTH???
And yeah,I thoroughly enjoyed the convo on Untucked. I loved how candid, honest, openly and matte-of factl they talked. Plus it was a different vie from what I had seen on previous untucked and whispers from drag queens. I always wondered about the girls who did do sex in drag cuz it seemed kinda taboo, but I was like, if nothing else it seems like a task to take EVERYTHING off, so it was nice to hear that. And it made me love Courtney Act even more cuz she has a really open opinion about it and it didn’t come off as preachy, she’s like a awesome friend who you can have quality convos with. Like you said, we don’t need Untucked to become therapy hour…that show is reserved for VH1 (just kiddin, hehe) but its was nice to get these moments of real talk behind the curtain of competition to understand how people think!
Plus Bianca gave a nice ending to the discussion overall which I think really pointed out her honesty and how she feels deep down as a person when getting intimate…
