Mexico vs New Zealand Game 2 on Univision networks

After defeating New Zealand 5-1 at home in the first leg of their World Cup qualifying playoff, Mexico will face New Zealand in an away match for the second leg on Nov. 20. Univision Deportes will again feature live Spanish-language coverage in the U.S., with Mexico vs New Zealand Game 2 airing live in the United States late-night Nov. 19/early morning Nov. 20 beginning at 12:50am ET on Univision and Univision Deportes Network. The match is taking place at Westpac Stadium in Wellington, New Zealand, accounting for the late start time for U.S. television audiences.

Coverage of Mexico vs New Zealand Game 1 reached 5.6 million Viewers 2+ for Univision, and it was the largest sporting event on the network’s digital platforms since the 2010 FIFA World Cup. During the week before the Game 2 match, Univision will have plenty of other coverage leading up to Mexico vs New Zealand Game 2. Starting Nov. 14, there will be special segments from New Zealand on Fútbol Club (UDN, 7pm ET), and on Contacto Deportivo (UniMás/UDN, 12am ET). The live segments will continue on Contacto Deportivo every night including game day. Univision shows Despierta América and Primer Impacto will also air live segments from New Zealand between Nov. 14 and 19.

Nov. 16 at 7:30pm ET, Univision Deportes Network will air the first episode of a two-part documentary special on Mexican and New Zealand soccer history — Mexico vs Nueva Zelanda: La Última Batalla (Mexico vs New Zealand: The Final Battle). Part 2 of the special, Nueva Zelanda: La Tierra de los Sueños (Mexico vs New Zealand: The Land of Dreams) will air Nov. 18 at 7:30pm ET.

On Nov. 17, there will be more live segments from New Zealand on República Deportiva (Univision/Univision Deportes Network, 11am ET). Additionally, Camino a la Copa (Road to the Cup) will air Nov. 17 at 1pm ET on Univision and UDN.

Then comes Game 2 day, Nov. 19/20. The hours leading up to the Mexico vs New Zealand Game 2 match will feature related content on Univision Deportes Network’s Fútbol Central (Nov. 19, 2:30pm ET), Locura Deportiva (Nov. 19, 6pm ET) and Fútbol Club (Nov. 19, 7 & 11 pm ET), as well as on Contacto Deportivo (UniMás/UDN, 12 am ET).
