Oscar winner Adrien Brody ("The Pianist") takes the title role in this two-part TV movie (concluding Tuesday) about the Eastern European immigrant born Ehrich Weiss, who rose from very humble beginnings to become one of the first global superstars thanks to his death-defying escape acts. Kristen Connolly ("House of Cards") co-stars as Bess, his wife and frequent "co-conspirator" in designing his stunts; Evan Jones plays his assistant, Jim Collins.

The first hour of a three-part episode from Corpus Christi, Texas, serves up a very pleasant surprise for one guest who brings in an oil painting by Diego Rivera. Done in 1904 when the artist was just 18 years old, the piece is now valued at $1 million. The team also checks out a 1967 painting by Alexander Calder, a Japanese bronze depicting a mythical figure and a large Fisk Tire Boy sign. Mark L. Walberg is the host.

FOX, 8:00 pm ET

If there's anything more unnerving than having to prepare an elegant meal flawlessly, it's probably to have to do it with Gordon Ramsay right by your side. That's the challenge for the contenders who remain in the new episode "Top 6 Compete," as they supply the dinner at a well-reputed Los Angeles restaurant. Joe Bastianich and Graham Elliot are the other judges, but with his boots on the ground here, you can be sure Ramsay will have a lot to say.
