Cocaine, condoms and Europe? Yep, it’s part of The Detour!

TheDetour_2If you haven’t caught on to The Detour on TBS yet, it’s not too late. The comedy series from Jason Jones and Samantha Bee is honestly one of THE FUNNIEST shows on TV today (it got a second season pickup almost immediately). The series airs tonight on TBS at 9pmET.

Tonight’s episode, “The Road,” finds  Nate (Jason Jones) and Robin (Natalie Zea) taking a trip down memory lane. While stuck in traffic on their family road trip from hell, the couple share differing stories on how they met to their more than attentive children. The episode is full of jaw-dropping, OMG-that-is-awkward moments. While Nate tries to paint a picture of a G-rated courtship for the twins’ naive ears, Robin opts for honesty and thus comes the cocaine, condoms, and the choice between being a mom to twins or going to Europe!?! Yeah, Europe …. there’s a story you need to hear.

In an interview earlier this month with Natalie Zea, which is a hilarious read, she told us that almost “everything that’s in the script has happened to someone. I know that it’s hard to believe … A lot of the anecdotal stuff and situational things are based on, if not loosely, a lot of them are exact renderings of something that’s happened to somebody that he [Jason] knows.”

  1. What garbage this is. Cocaine and condoms being championed? Is this the best we can do folks on television? Please stop watching garbage like this, elevate your minds and get out of the gutter.

    • Bob lighten up and get the stick out of your butt. The show was hilarious. The jokes were spot on and the chemistry between the actors was amazing. I’m glad you will be unhappy when the second season airs since you don’t understand the evolution of comedy.
