What class has the best chance to win Survivor? We break it down for you…

Survivor evolves once again for its 30th season when the reality competition series segregates contestants by their social class for Survivor: Worlds Apart: White Collar vs. Blue Collar vs. No Collar beginning Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 8pmET/PT on CBS. We did some win_Survivor_Sn30quick on social classes to determine what it takes to win Survivor by looking at historical information on the past winners –  focusing on age and social class — where the details are listed below.
“We try to find new ways to change the show so we can give you the same thing only different,” says host and executive producer Jeff Probst. While past seasons have seen plenty of white-collar and blue-collar participants, never has the series divided the tribes based on their economic status. If you’re the betting type (like our office), your odds are more favorable with the white and blue collars, as only a handful of no-collar free spirits have won in the past.
“White Collars are the people who typically in life are educated, might work in an office, wear a suit — they make the rules,” Probst told Entertainment Weekly. “Blue Collar — the heart of America, they typically work outdoors. They might wear a uniform. They work with their hands. They follow the rules. And the No Collars are the people who break the rules. They don’t go by convention. They don’t care about the status quo.”

Below we list past winners by their age, residence and occupation at the time in which they were contestants on the series. The first thing that we learned is that you have a better chance to win Survivor if you are in your twenties, as 48% of past winners were 29 or under. Only 14% were age 40 or older, which equates to just four past winners — Denise Stapley, Bob Crowley, Tom Westerman and Tina Wesson.

When it comes to social class, outwitting tends to be the strongest attribute with the White Collars as they had a bit of an edge over the Blue Collars, where 45% of past winners were what we would consider white collar, 34% were blue collar and 21% were no collar. As you would expect, there is some “grey” area to selecting one’s class, for example we debated whether Tyson should be white or blue — even no collar some thought — but here’s how we picked em ….
