AHS: Freak Show introduces new character in Episode 8

Chrissy Metz plays the fat lady on American Horror StoryA new character is introduced tonight in Episode 8 of American Horror Story: Freak Show. In “Blood Bath,” which airs on FX Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 10pm ET/PT, newcomer Chrissy Metz will play Ima, an immensely large woman who looks to be Elsa’s (Jessica Lange) new freak of interest to dote over. [SPOILER] Elsa’s former favorite (and an adored fan favorite) was Ma Petite (Jyoti Amge) but her run ended last episode when Stanley (Denis O’Hare) wrapped his nasty hands around her. (We’re still grieving over the museum encapsulation reveal). Metz clearly is playing the fat lady and most likely will be around for Episode 9 titled “When the Fat Lady Sings.”

Returning in Episode 8 is Gabourey Sidibe who comes a calling at the Mott’s residence looking for her mama Dora (Patti LaBelle), who hasn’t been returning her calls. Freak boy Dandy (played fabulously by Finn Wittrock) and his enabling mother Gloria (Francis Conroy) — who has been trying miserably to contain Dandy’s bloodlust — have a real problem with Regina at their house asking questions and their former maid Dora buried in their backyard. The two Mott wackadoodles surely will provide some humor and craziness trying to get themselves out of that one. Also asking questions about the recent disappearances around camp is Ethel (Kathy Bates),  who is becoming increasing suspicious on Elsa’s true intentions after overhearing Elsa and Stanley discussing the twins fate.

Tonight’s episode was written by Ryan Murphy.
