Ryder Cup 2014The premier match-play tournament in golf, the biennial Ryder Cup, is played Sept. 26-28 at Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire, Scotland. The U.S. Team, captained by Tom Watson, takes on the European Team, led by Paul McGinley. Europe has won the past two Ryder Cups in 2010 and 2012, achieving an improbable comeback on the final day to hold onto the Cup two years ago in Medinah, Ill. Europe has won five of the last six Ryder Cups.

Golf Channel and NBC combine to televise the tournament live from Scotland, marking the first time a Ryder Cup hosted in Europe will be televised and streamed online live in the U.S. Golf Channel airs Day One on Friday, Sept. 26, with NBC airing Saturday and Sunday matches. Coverage will also be streamed on Golf Live Extra and NBC Sports Live Extra. Golf Channel debuts Ryder Cup Alternate Shot, complementing NBC’s live coverage with a different view of the tournament.

Terry Gannon calls play-by-play with analyst Terry Gannon for Friday and Saturday morning matches, joined by Nick Faldo (Friday) and Frank Nobilo (Saturday). Dan Hicks and Johnny Miller call the Friday and Saturday afternoon matches as well as Sunday’s singles matches. Additional announcers, analysts and reporters include Tom Abbott, Curt Byrum, Gary Koch, Peter Jacobsen, Roger Maltbie, Mark Rolfing, Notah Begay, Jerry Foltz, Steve Sands, Jimmy Roberts and Colin Montgomerie. David Feherty and Gary Williams host Ryder Cup Alternate shot on Golf Channel, with analysis and contributions from Lanny Wadkins, David Duval and Justin Leonard.
