Dancing With The Stars: The Finals

Who will will the mirror ball trophy tonight, in less than two hours we’ll know the champion of Season 18 of Dancing With The Stars!

The exciting opening number was a change to see all of this season’s contestants.  Billy Dee and the stormtroopers were back! Drew! Sean! Danica! NeNe!

We got to see all of last night’s performances, and wow, what amazing dances!

We also got to see James and Peta’s freestyle dance form last night in an encore performance. I always love a good dance battle.

Last night, after James and Peta were eliminated, the three remaining contestants were charged with creating a new dance with only 24 hours, so I can’t wait to see that!  Coming up later in the show.

Another musical performance. This time by Ariana Grande singing Problem. This is the third time I’ve seen her perform this song in the past week. At least this time she’s not wearing go-go boots.

After the break, we got to see a live performance of Team Loca’s group dance from the Latin week to Livin’ la Vida Loca. That week, Ricky Martin was the guest judge and Amy Purdy injured herself during her partner dance, so the team was judged based on the dress rehearsal. Their dress rehearsal was good, but the live performance was so much better!

Izzy Azalea performed her #1 song Fancy. What?!? She has major sound issues. “I’m so sorry, there’s something wrong in my ears.” And some bleeped potty words.

After the break, Amber Riley sang her song Colorblind. This song is really beautiful and Amber is so adorable and her voice is incredible.

Drew and Cheryl re-danced their jive. It is fun to see Drew’s enthusiasm again. He is simply dancing for the joy of it and is proof that dancing isn’t just for young women. Even middle-aged men can dance and have fun.

And we saw a cute package of Erin Andrews’ best lines.  She is funny and I really liked her quick wit.

After the break we saw part of a dance between Charlie and Meryl. Even though the dance was sexy, Charlie still had a huge grin on his face.

We got another look at Nene’s performance of Grown Woman by Beyonce. It is a fun dance, but not my favorite dance by NeNe.

We saw recaps from the Disney Week and Party Anthems week. And Danica and Val did an encore presentation of their Be Our Guest quickstep from Disney Week.

After another commercial break, Cody Simpson entertained the crowd with his song Surfboard. it was fun when he sang it earlier in the season, but it was fun to see him sing it again.

Amy and Derek are doing Argentine Tango and Cha Cha for their 24 hour challenge.

Drew Carey “I was in it for the spray tans and the clutter.”

Sharna and Charlie did and encore performance of Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious from Disney Week, and again, Charlie had a prop malfunction. It was still an inspired dance, but the next time Charlie sees a prop, he should run in the other direction!

Candace and Mark are doing Samba and Quickstep for their 24 hour dance challenge.

Peta and James did an encore performance of Love Never Felt So Good, by Michael Jackson.

Boy, you could have not watched a single moment of this season of DWTS and seen tonight and retry much have seen it all. Conversely, this results special might have been achieved in 5 minutes.

Meryl and Maks are performing Fox Trot and Cha Cha in their 24 hour hour fusion dance.

Amber Riley danced as part of The Walgreens Dance happy, Be healthy program.  The tight gold costume that they put Amber in is unfortunate and far from her best look, but she still has as an amazing voice.

  1. Thank you for the wrap-ups and reviews during the season. For all those occasions when I had conflicts and could not watch DWTS, your comments still kept me current as if I had watched the program.
