In only a few hours, a new Dancing With The Stars champion will be crowned and another mirror ball trophy will be awarded. Which lovely lady will hold the ultimate prize in celebrity dancing: Amy, Candace or Meryl?
It’s only been a few months since the DWTS cast was announced and in a short time, three couples have risen them
Amy Purdy and Derek Hough
As a kid, Amy was adventurous and after a clog-dancing stint, started snowboarding at age 15. They went into septs about Amy’s fight with bacterial meningitis and how miraculous it is that she’s even alive, let alone dancing. We also got a change to revisit Amy’s dances from the season, including a lot of the story behind Amy’s week 3 contemporary dance. I was so glad to get another look at the dance that honored her father’s life-saving donation of a kidney, while Amy and Derek talked about what they were feeling during the performance.
Len “Amy has achieved the impossible”
Bruno “There is always an element of surprise.”
Carrie Ann “When you watch Amy dancing, it’s like watching a miracle happen.”
Amy revealed that she has used 4 different sets of feet during the course of the show.
Candace and Mark
Candace started acting at age 5, and booked the role of DJ tanner at age 10. Candace talked about going through puberty in the media spotlight and the scrutiny she faced about her weight. they also interviewed her adorable children and husband. Candace talked about how her faith has helped her throughout the competition. Candace talked about the Cha Cha Cha that she did in week 6, which is a performance that she didn’t like. Despite not doing her best, she still had her mega-watt smile. Candace says that her pivotal moment in the season was seeing Dr. Jen about her anxiety. Candace’s most memorable dance was her Argentine Tango, which we got to see again.
Len “What I like about Candace, there’s a charm, a fragility”
Bruno “Somehow, halfway through, she started to relax and enjoy herself.”
Carrie Ann “Candace is the underdog, so if she wins, America will feel like they won.”
Meryl and Maks
Meryl started skating at age 3. And was diagnosed with Dyslexia as a young child. Her drive and determination helped her to fight her own feelings of insecurity. Meryl’s family and skating friends talked about her sexually charged-relationship with Maks and how she has broken out of her shy shell and has found a powerful and confident woman. Meryl really liked her week 6 tango, so we got a chance to see it again. We also saw Maks’ week 6 frustrations and his fears about disappointing Meryl. That frustration lent itself to a terrific dance, so I guess that when Maks is frustrated, his best comes out, especially in a sexually charged dance like the tango.
Len “She is the Chased, not the Chaser”
Bruno “At times, she is indistinguishable from a professional”
Carrie Ann “They have the best partnership I’ve ever seen. It’s magical.”
That’s the end of the recap hour, the life finale starts NOW!!!
