  1. At one point Eric said England glad to see Aaron Ramsey fit before World Cup!! He’s Welsh you idiot! He and Gus make me watch on mute! FYI, I’m a middle aged American housewife and not some European ranting about them…truly bad!!

  2. I proppose that arsenal take it automatic cos they have good players

  3. Not seeing the cup final on Fox on Comcast…only on Fox Deportes. Not on the main Fox channels or Fox Sports 1…

I suppose a re-run of a Nascar race is more important though, so fair enough.

  4. Gus Johnson is to Football Commentary as Joan Rivers is to international diplomacy. The most annoying inept play by play announcer of all time.

  5. Gus Johnson might be a decent enough chap, but his football commentary is absolutely appalling. There’s no clear understanding of the game and his ability to keep the audience engaged with descriptive, detailed and (where necessary) witty dialogue is non-existent. Our cat could give a more entertaining commentary.

As others on this thread have mentioned, the Barclays Premier League has no ties with the FA Cup. Indeed, 737 teams entered this season’s tournament, most of them having a better attitude about the competition than those from the Premiership (Hull and Wigan excepted ).

  6. Gus Johnson’s commentary might well cause me to watch the match on mute. He is an example of great enthusiasm with too little understanding of this sport. Thank goodness that Fox lost the BPL broadcast rights.

  7. Barclays Premier League has nothing to do with the Football Association Cup. It is a separate entity and competition that is open to all teams in England and Wales. Arsenal and Hull City, this years finalists happen to also be in the Barclays Premier League.

    • Look- I get as annoyed at Fox Sports TV coverage as anybody but nowhere does it say that the competition is solely for teams from the Barclay’s Premier League- it says only that the finalists ARE teams that happen to be IN the Barclay’s Premier League.
On the other hand to say Gus Johnson is “renowned” is an interesting choice of words- like saying spam- flavored ice cream is “renowned”- fortunately that too is not an untruth… Whether he is any good or not I cannot possibly comment..” ……a shot! ………….almost a goal from the team from Madrid…………….they are both from Madrid? …… Almost a goal from The team with the white shirts…… What a game. ” oh the profundity and depth of analysis is mind-blowing !! Is it just me or is Gus Johnson channeling Keanu Reeves from the Matrix?
