MLB Sydney Series opens 2014 season on MLB Network: The 2014 MLB regular season opens in Sydney, Australia, with a two-game series March 22-23 between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Arizona Diamondbacks. MLB Network has exclusive live coverage of the games.

MLB Sydney Series

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks play in the first 2014 MLB regular season games with a two-game series in Sydney, Australia. The MLB Sydney Series at the famed Sydney Cricket Ground will take place Saturday, March 22, with Game 1 live at 4am ET on MLB Network. MLB Network will air a replay of the game at 7:30am ET. Game 2 will air live on MLB Network at 10pm ET. MLB Network’s Matt Vasgersian and John Smoltz will call the games, joined by former Australia cricket captain and International Cricket Council Hall of Fame member Ian Chappell of Australia’s Nine Network.

CY Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw gets the start in Game 1 for the Dodgers. The Diamondbacks will counter with left-handed All-Star Patrick Corbin. Game 2 will have the Dodgers’ lefty Hyun-Jin Ryu against the D-backs’ Trevor Cahill.
