‘Little People, Big World’ stars Matt and Amy Roloff split

TLC released an official statement today from Matt and Amy Roloff, stars of the network’s hit series Little People, Big World, announcing their decision to separate after 26 years of marriage — an outcome many of the show’s fans and observers suspected was long in the offing.

The Rohloff’s statement reads:

Though we have weathered many storms together, we recently made the tough decision to engage in a trial separation. Matt remains living on the farm in our guesthouse and we work together everyday on the farm, on our business endeavors and most importantly, raising our amazing children.

The Roloff’s changing family dynamic will be featured in a new, one-hour Little People, Big World special called “New Year, Big Changes” that will air Tuesday, March 25 at 9/8CT on TLC. Filmed in the final weeks of 2013, the special chronicles Matt’s move out of the family home in the hopes that some time apart will give the couple the opportunity to evaluate their needs and their future.

But it’s also the holiday season and all of the Roloff kids are home. so Matt and Amy still want to celebrate as a family, including an elaborate New Years Eve party with family and friends. Surrounded by their loved ones, the Roloffs reflect on the evolution of their 26-year marriage and what might be done to make their marriage last.

  1. Sadly the only thing I’m surprised about is that it took this long, it was pretty obvious that they were on the rocks for a few years now. Too bad, they went through a lot together…
