TCA: FOX announces premiere date for 24: Live Another Day

At the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour FOX announced the premiere date for 24: Live Another Day as Monday, May 5 at 8pm ET/PT. The highly anticipate 12-episode series will kick off with a two-hour start, and then take its regular timeslot of Mondays Premiere date for 24: Live Another Dayat 9pm ET/PT the following week.

The series is set and shot in London and finds star and executive producer Kiefer Sutherland restarting the clock for another go around as Jack Bauer. The series picks up with Jack in exile but willing to risk his life to thwart an unthinkable terrorist attack that could change the world forever.

At the end of Season 8, Jack was left a fugitive on the run. 24: Live Another Day picks up four years later in a completely different place. The series opens a CIA agent, played by Yvonne Strahovski (Dexter), on the hunt for Jack. When Jack re-surfaces from hiding we learn he’s on a mission, and as the CIA agent gets closer and closer to him, Chloe (Mary Lynn Rajskub) will re-enter the scene.

“At the beginning of the show they [Chloe and Jack] are actually pitted against each other,” tells executive producer Manny Coto.

Sutherland is definitely nervous returning to the series. “It was nine years and I am terrified,” he shares. “Without patting ourselves on the back, we made 8 really strong years. I was very proud of those 8 years so to open that up again and make 12 episodes is frightening. … To not give [fans] the best that we have to offer would be very disappointing. I’m about as anxious and wound up as I have been in a long time.”

And we’re just as anxious to see the series come back. Are you glad to see Jack return? What are you most excited about? Let us know below.
