When Are The Winter Olympics?: The 2014 Winter Olympic Games begin Thursday, Feb. 6, and end on Sunday, Feb. 23.

Where Are The Winter Olympics Being Held?: In Sochi, Russia, a resort city on the eastern coast of the Black Sea. Sochi’s population is approximately 400,000.

When Is The Opening Ceremony?: The Opening Ceremony will air on U.S. television on Friday, Feb. 7. NBC will air primetime coverage of events on Thursday, Feb. 6, the night before the Opening Ceremony airs. It’s the first time in any Olympics that a U.S. media company has dedicated primetime coverage to Olympic competition prior to the Opening Ceremony.

When Is The Closing Ceremony?: The Closing Ceremony will air in primetime on NBC Sunday, Feb. 23.

What TV Networks Are Broadcasting The Olympics?: U.S. viewers will find daily Olympic coverage on the NBCUniversal TV networks. Primetime coverage will again air on NBC, plus live and daytime events will airs on NBCSN, CNBC, MSNBC and USA Network. Online coverage is available on NBCOlympics.com and through the NBC Sports Live Extra mobile app (free to authenticated pay-TV subscribers).

What Are The Winter Olympic Mascots?: Surprisingly not as bizarre/horrifying as in some recent Olympics, and these actually make sense. There are The Polar Bear, The Hare and The Leopard.

  1. Does anyone know what time the Opening Ceremony will air in the US? All I can find is that it will be on Friday 2/7, but I can’t find the actual time.
