Game of Thrones wins Best Bloodbath in Channel Guide’s 2013 Viewers Voice Awards

The Red Wedding on Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones wins 2013 Viewers Voice Award for the “Best Bloodbath” in Channel Guide’s annual reader poll. It was the devastating, brutal slaughter of Game of Thrones’ Robb Stark, his pregnant wife, his mother and his men that left readers most scared and ultimately naming the “The Rains of Castamere” episode (a.k.a. “The Red Wedding”) the Best Bloodbath. GOT author George R.R. Martin said the episode was based on actual events in Scottish history, naming the Black Dinner of 1440 at Edinburgh Castle and the Glencoe Massacre.

The Bible — Israel vs. the Philistines 21.5%
The Walking Dead — The Governor gunning down his own people 20.7%
